The serious >

Anti-war protester Juan Torres weeps during prayers for dead U.S. soldiers, including his son Juan who was killed in Afghanistan, as a clergyman places his hand on his shoulder near the ranch of U.S. President George W. Bush in Crawford, Texas, August 19, 2005. In the absence of lead protester Cindy Sheehan, who raced back to California to visit her ailing mother, other parents of U.S. soldiers recently killed in the Middle East have rallied together for her cause to meet with President Bush in an effort to change his war policy.REUTERS/Jason Reed

8. It's George biking last year.
He declines to be photographed this time. In fact, he hasn't left the "ranch" all week. What's he doing in there? Hiding from the Gold Star Moms & Dads?

7. I was there.
The sight of him on his knees crying before the memory of his son has added to the sacredness of Camp Casey.

10. Please pass this on
When our son, Spencer died, this poem meant a great deal to me. Please pass it to Mr. Torres and let him know another heart aches with his own.

"He"

He came for only a brief moment,
and drifted away.
A brief flash in time,
He was not meant to stay.
Like a falling star,
to be seen at a glimpse and then to disappear,
A small miracle not meant to be,
A life to go unlived
Yet his existence has altered all of me.
He came into my heart,
Taking with him the dreams and hopes of tomorrow,
Taking away that special part
of my soul.
He is always with me,
Always loved and forever missed.
Like a beautiful sunrise eclipsed by the clouds.
He has made me who I am this very day.
My life is what is left
Since he was taken away.
