"Cindy Sheehan helped murder her own son"
From the site that cannot be named:

"Casey Sheehan would be alive today if his mother and her dark forces (friends) didn't actively support terrorist. Cindy Sheehan and every other lefty nut in this country killed Casey. Cindy Sheehan is a terrorist-by-association and helped to murder her son. It is no wonder she has been driven crazy with guilt and is ready to sacrifice everything in her life to lie and scream and writhe to cast that guilt onto others.

Cindy Sheehan helped murder her own son"

Anyone care to take a stab at this?

7. This is the result of severe disinformation in the media.
They would if they knew the truth, not resort to those kind of venomous statements. As a result of their own blind behavior, they can not see the truth, and therefore believe we have a mission to destroy all the terrorists.

I.E. they don't have any clue about the oil or secret deals, and could care less.

Sheehan only started speaking out a year ago after her son was already dead. I guess those veterans speaking out are killing too? :eyes:

13. Denial causes complete detachment. Repubs have to convince themselves
that it was okay to slaughter 100k innocent people for no good reason that any of them can come up with, so they just pull stuff out of the air.

No connection between the "war on terror" and Iraq in any way, and they know it, but they can't allow themselves to admit it. When someone rubs their noses in the blood they've shed, denial takes over, and you get crap like this.

Reminds me of the Middle Ages. Christians came up with the wierdest fantasies about Jews killing Christian kids and creating mock eucharists with their blood and flesh. Never happened, but many Christians were convinced of it. Historians and psychologists blame the fantasies on the persecution of the Jews, and the need of the persecutors to invent a reason to justify it. Same things happened in the south with the fantasies about black men raping little white girls. Actually, many of the Freepers probably are descended from people with those delusions.

19. Here's a link to dehumanization of the enemy
It talks about the parallels with Vietnam, Abu Girab and the Holocaust. Worth a read.
http://www.decaturdaily.com/decaturdaily/news/040523/abuse.shtml

This was an interesting quote:
"Unfortunately," said Jerome Rosenberg, an expert in the Holocaust, "the more you engage in dehumanizing others, the lower your own sense of humanity, the lower your ability to see the difference between right and wrong, becomes."

I think there's a danger of that happening on both sides of the red- and blue-state debate. We have to be careful.

32. Your head should hurt, trying to follow debunked lies
http://corner.nationalreview.com/05_08_14_corner-archive.asp#072959

Notice, that's a conservative debunking Weldon and the "Able Danger" nonsense.

It doesn't take an advanced degree on the Middle East (which I have) to know that Bin Laden and Hussein were mortal enemies and would not have teamed up. It also doesn't take a larger-than-average dose of common sense to understand that Iraq was the most watched nation on the planet and under Clinton Bin Laden was the most sought-after renegade on the planet. Both were being watched under Clinton, so much so that the Republicans in 98 and 99 were accusing Clinton of persecuting an innocent man (yes, Bin Laden-- http://www.salon.com/news/1998/08/27news.html
http://www.makethemaccountable.com/myth/ClintonAndTerrorism.htm )

If people connected to Bin Laden had met with people connected to Iraq, it would have been known by more than one unreliable source who thought he saw someone he now thinks might have been Muhammad Atta speaking to an unnamed Iraqi agent in a cafe in Czechoslovakia. Now, if it happened under Bush before 9-11, obviously it would have gone unnoticed, since Bush pulled back surveillance of UBL, pulled the hit submarines off the coast of Pakistan so they couldn't hit Bin Laden when they learned his wearabouts (unfortunate, since Russia claims they gave Bush his coordinates in March of 2001, but Bush had no way to attack him), and basically told intelligence to quit persecuting his old buddy, Bin Laden (remember, his father, by his father's own admission, worked for the Carlysle group at the time, and was close enough to the Bin Laden family that he made a public and undisputed trip to the Bin Laden compound in Saudi Arabia not too long before 9-11. You won't find that debunked anywhere, btw, since Bush admits it). That's when people like John O'Neil quit, knowing that Bush had no interest in fighting UBL and wouldn't understand the danger until it bit him, as it did on 9-11.

It didn't happen. There was no connection between Iraq and Bin Laden, and no link between Iraq and 9-11. Bush has admitted that there is no evidence linking the two. Hussein was a secular, socialist leader, and UBL is a fundamentalist, conservative Muslim. UBL hated Hussein more than he hated the US, and the only reason UBL couldn't strike in Iraq was because Hussein's bloody tyranny made it impossible to get into Iraq. They are as far apart as Ralph Nader and James Dobson. Farther, even, because in the bottom line, both Ralph's are American, but Hussein (an Iraqi) and Bin Laden (an Arab) don't even have that common heritage linking them.

Anyway, hope your head hurts less. This Able Danger nonsense was just one of those conspiracy theories that popped up because the evidence was so strongly against George W Bush that he needed some goofy, preposterous idea to convince the neocons who were starting to doubt him that he was right to invade Iraq. As you can see from the National Review, it didn't work, not even with the neocons.

So your head can stop hurting. Bush still invaded Iraq on a series of lies, he is still a murderer, a traitor, and a war criminal.

Nothing is beneath them. They traveled all the way to Crawford to tell the world that they "don't care", and that's all we need to know about them to understand them.

people who say things like this and people who actually support the chimp have such profound intellectual handicaps. I think this is why they are allowing our water to become increasingly more poisoned with heavy metals. Clinical symptoms of heavy metal poisoning include aggressiveness and stupidity. It increases the Republican voter base.

26. E&P article on Bill Mitchell whose son was killed the same day & place
as Casey:

... “It’s like that movie ‘Field of Dreams,’ you know, ‘if you build it they will come.’”

From nearby arrived a “couple of Texas farm boys -- dude, you’d swear they were from the other side on the war.” Plenty of vets, including some from World War II. A few active duty from Ft. Hood.

When he got to the camp, the main support center there, the local Peace House, had only $3 in its bank account. But now, Bill said, donations have brought it up close to six figures. Supplies are constantly rolling in -- ice, food for dinner (for 100), computers. Still, with the heat and red ants “and three or four monsoons,” he “nearly collapsed a couple times.” But he adds, “We're just doing whatever we can to end this war it so that no one else has to experience that same pain and devastation, the same upset in their lives.”

One day, Bill says he got a call from a woman in the U.S. Army in Germany, about to fly off to Iraq, who had seen his picture in the paper and wanted to tell him that she and many others in the military were with him. “When my son was killed I said he had died in vain,” Bill said. “Now I feel the tide is turning, the mood changing. Now I feel that with incredible people, and incredible numbers of people, pulling together, the story of my son’s life and death will actually save many other lives." http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/columns/pressingissues_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001018031
