82 Days Without a Press Conference
Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 04:44 AM by mopaul
i'm just sayin', where's our commander in chief with his promised monthly press conferences. after the karl rove story broke, w. has gone into hiding and hasn't taken any reporter's questions.

he sure hides a lot lately huh?

3. Come on MoPaul, like what is new?
It is a sad state of affairs. Are you going to make it to Crawford or DC or are you staying home? We can't make up our minds.

One of your nicest ever.

4. Did Bush openly promise monthly press conferences?
I don't recall that.

I found this from 4 months ago:
Glasnost in the Pressroom
It might get good again for bored White House correspondents. Bush insiders say the prez wants to hold monthly press conferences, a far cry from the few he held in the first term. "He's enthusiastic about it," says one associate. "He likes exchanges with the press. This is a sign of things to come: glasnost on Pennsylvania Avenue."

6. Last week, some time, husband was watching CNN in the morning, and
I saw a news crawl that said Holloway, day 75. Off topic, I know, but interesting. IMHO.

8. I'm not sure a regular press conference is even desirable
A) he's unable to string a coherent phrase/thought without scrunching his face trying to remember the "buzzwords" Karl made him memorize - I cringe when I see him because he's so embarrassing: and

B) the eunuchs of the press corps just won't ask him a tough question - they're so afraid of having their accreditations pulled (or their bosses are) that Bush always gets a free ride.

It's increasingly becoming "what's the point???"

11. You're right - he did promise that
- all that needs to happen is for Americans to take off their damn blinkers about this fool - to make him less of a "regular guy" and more of the liar and coward we all know he is.
