Iraq at the gates of hell |

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/GH20Ak01.html imo this is the ugliest, most conceited contemporaneous display of 'square peg in a round hole' installation of a puppet democracy; a true scourge on the otherwise good offices of america

1. We will NEVER live George Bush down |

Sometimes I really fear this is so.
He is everything bad about America in one person.
We are in disgrace; condemned to seek forgiveness, undeserving, cap-in-hand, from all those we have wronged.
To paraphrase deTocqueville, himself a conservative writer, America will cease to be great, because America has ceased to be good.
My fondest hope is that I am wrong, and that this, our day of shame, will pass in a few short years.

in their callous dis-association & ham-handed approach to all things civil; i'm generally an optimistic person but my sense is that years will pass, decades, before any of this will be resolved without greater bloodshed still to come imo and it is a sadness to think it could've been done without the abuse of our more lofty poetries
