The 'Urban Legend' of the 200 Miles Per Gallon Carburetor
Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 09:07 AM by mopaul
ever hear of that loony legend? several inventors many, many years ago presented patents for super carburetors that would saved consumers trillions of bucks, but the patents were bought by the oil and car companies and buried, to keep the profits higher and higher.

fuel efficiency was ridiculed by bushco as soon as they began campaigning, all the while lying about depending on foreign sources of oil. hummers were introduced, and gigantic s.u.v.'s, and frugality was forgotten.

where do such crazy bigfoot, loch ness monster fantasies come from anyway?

Edit: as for where they come from, people obviously don't have enough to do.

2. I agree its fake, but a statement here indicates Snopes don't know Bush*
Those who are tempted to believe the Evil Government is responsible for keeping this miracle out of our hands should reflect for a moment on the current state of world politics. The government of the United States would like nothing better than to throw off the yoke of dependence upon foreign oil. A miraculous carburetor would grant that freedom, allowing Americans to continue to enjoy current levels of use without the need to go hat in hand to OPEC or even those dastardly Canadians. The domestic supply would be more than enough.

3. Those are two urban legends I think everyone would like to be true...
...both the 200mpg carburetor and the forever light bulb. The revolution that both devices have existed for decades and have been withheld for profit and power, would give reason for the final revolution to unseat all of the tyrannical leaders and corporations of today. At least we can dream.
