7. Lance has publicly criticized the war. His goal now is cancer money |
|
Lance said publicly last week that Bush should have spent that money on cancer research, or something to that effect. This meeting was just Lance's attempt to get money for cancer research. People are still dying of cancer, even if Bush is an evil bastard. I know, two of my co-workers are battling it right now, and both seem to be losing.
I don't blame Lance. I blame Bush.

8. If I were asked to go on a bike ride with the President, I would do it |
|
Lance Armstrong is focusing his energy on cancer research. He would be stupid not to take this opportunity and pitch it to the President.
Besides, riding a bicycle with the guy is not a reason to dump on a professional cyclist. If Kerry or Gore were in the WH right now, Lance would most likely still be asked to visit and he would have said yes to either of them as well.
Speaking as someone who lost her father in 2000 to cancer, I don't care who asks for the funding and I don't care who agrees to fund it, just keep the ball rolling so we can get closer to a cure. I can't stand the President either, but I don't think this is a political issue.

11. One of the points I try to make about this war. |
|
I ask people if they know anyone who has been hurt or killed by a terrorist. I live in New York State but not near NYC. I then ask them if they know anyone who is affected by or has died from cancer. Since my heart attack I have added heart disease.
Everyone has to agree with the logic of spending our money on disease prevention and not war.
