Major tinfoil alert. File this under things that make you go hmmmmmm...

Those who have read the new rawstory article regarding Able Danger know that there are indications that some of the Atta group may have been trained on our own military bases.

This is incredibly shocking, but gets ever more confusing when you add up the other dots in the landscape:

(1) Wasn't our Airforce undergoing some kind of mock training sessions on that day?

(2) What branch of the military did the anthrax come from?

(3) When the Iraq war broke out, it was the Army grunts that got sent to the frontlines, and not even the most seasoned fighting soldiers. Weren't they held back?

These are just the strangest times. Things that make you go hmmmmm...

1. I had heard before about them training on military bases...
I recall reading that some military guy got disciplined for talking about it, and the cover story was that they were different guys with the same name.

If the real truth about 911 ever came out, Bush would be executed. My own personal experience was clearly recalling all the escalating warnings that hit the press prior to 911 (most clearly, the Israeli warnings), and then BushCo afterward claiming they knew nothing at all.

IMO, I think it was probably MIHOP. There was a time when me thinking that kind of thing would have been unimaginable. Now, with BushCo in charge? Well, h*ll, it's just another day at the oval office.

I'm putting a lot of faith in Fitz. I sure hope he earns it.

2. I'm one of those that needed more proof for the MIHOP and LIHOP.
But damn!

Welcome FormerRepublican. Who knew we would find common ground this way?

3. Backlash you have verbalized many of my questions
I have often wondered where all of the PROFESSIONAL military have been since invading Iraq.

Why is it mainly national guard fighting Iraq? When they are reduced in numbers, does that excuse Bushco to use professional military in the U.S.?

Too many questions and the list continues to grow -- with no answers forthcoming.

5. Welcome SuniSurf:
I've been on this newsgroup for at least four years, maybe more, and I have never subscribed to the LIHOP or MIHOP theories until today. I always explained things in other ways. Like, Bush was an incompetent and really believed there were WMD, so he kept his profesesional soldiers away to protect them for a second wave, if necessary.

I really think it's time for someone in authority to give us hard answers.

4. Rumsfeld has purged the Army for Bush.
I can't speak for the other services. The NeoCon marginalization of Powell had this as an associated objective. H2O mans thread on Armitage is a good related fairly recent post.

6. Makes sense. The Army is the most integrated branch of the military.

Career generals would have presented the gravest obstacles to this administration if it had a misguided agenda.

7. Old news, but worthy. You have to wonder when the NORAD pilots
and military staff who have pledged to defend this country against enemies both external and internal will find the balls to tell us what happened that day. Every day they keep the secrets is a day working against our country.

9. They'll be welcoming you through your first 500 or so posts.
But you don't really get the first official DU welcome, until New Yawker spots you. :-)
