Update on fire that killed two young girls in Oklahoma yesterday
Their brother was back home yesterday.
He said that the fire the night before started in the front living room. The curtains caught fire (didn't say why).
His father put the fire out. They didn't call anyone.
He was awoken on Friday am by hearing his sisters' screaming and calling his name to help.
He ran out of his room into heavy smoke and fire.
He went to their room (door was shut) and put his hand on the door.
He said the door was so hot it burnt his hand, so he didn't open it.
He told his sisters to get close to the floor and he would go for help.
He couldn't make it to the door because of the engulfment of flames and he had to break a window to get out.
He called for help. By the time help arrived, it was too late.
He said if he hadn't heard their screams, then he would have died too because he was sleeping and that was the only thing that woke him up.
He is upset because he was 5 ft away and talking to them and couldn't help them. I fear that will haunt this boy for the rest of his life.
That is news from the family. Please keep them in your prayers.

This is news from the paper. It looks like one of the girls started both fires. not sure which one.

MOORE - A fire that killed two young sisters visiting their father on Friday may have been started by one of the girls, fire officials said.

The same girl also may have started another fire Thursday at the home, 1229 Janeway Circle, said Moore Deputy Fire Chief Gary Bird.

Bird did not say how the fires were started. The fires remain under investigation.

Radi Tawfiq told Joe McAlister to call 911 as the boy ran around looking for a way to get back into the burning house to save his sisters, Patty McAlister said.

"He couldn't even find a window," she said. "I felt so bad for him."

2. Horrible story, a terrible tragedy for all
and yes, it will be a horrible life for him, I'm afraid

There are things that can help -- here's one, and it's free. There are a number of PTSD cases in the Case Studies section of this website (hint: it's helpful for returning war vets too):

3. Thank you Eloriel
I will certainly pass these along.

Found out some other info today...very very strange.

As I posted before, last week they up and moved suddenly.
After the kids were already in Oklahoma, the house HERE in our town caught on fire. There weren't any common links at the fires here or the fires in Oklahoma.
Speculation in town is that someone was after the kids to hurt one of the parents. Possible drug connection.
I don't know what the deal is, just that it is so sad.
Again, thank you.
