What Cindy Sheehan Really Wants
"When are the bureau chiefs of our newspapers and networks going to snap out of their own vacation-induced trances and send some grown-up correspondents down to Crawford, Texas? For weeks now, Cindy Sheehan has not been asked a single question that is any tougher than 'How does it feel?'"

I found this article interesting, I do not know if it has already been posted once up here.

1. Uh huh
Cindy has answered the lies and smears, some of which were simply repeated here. But of course the slant is that she has been given a "free ride" by the "liberal" press. Go to meetwithcindy.org or read the numerous posts here on Cindy and you'll find the truth.

7. About as conservative as the Neo-cons who were all a bunch of
liberals who believe in American Empire. Go figure...

Hitchens was a loud and vocal mouthpiece for the invasion of Iraq long before the invasion started.

While his boozy views have long been discredited, he finds it hard to give up the ghost.

Actually, according to this guy, he's a "Drink soaked former Trotsky-ite popin jay." And I tend to agree.

4. The Chattering Class which passes for the MSM these days
only talk to each other.

I think they see Cindy as someone who is crashing their party:

who allowed this woman serious knowledge of current events? Doesn't she know she is only supposed to know about M.Jackson and Natalie Holloway and their ilk? We must make an example of her (start the smear machine) and woe to anyone that attempts to stand with her.

WE (THE MSM) DECIDE WHAT IS IMPORTANT

12. sigh....
I've been here for a while actually. Check my profile. I am a democrat but granting this woman sainthood is a mistake. She has gone beyond mere grieving and anger and went into the realm of politics. Should we not offer a fair criticism of her? And please spare me your rather pathetic attempt at humor.

13. the point is
that she has answered all the smears. This article just repeats the smears. That's why I don't find the article interesting-just more of the same old same old.

No one here is "granting this woman sainthood". I'm just not a cold hearted blow hard. Smearing Cindy Sheehan is bad form and low class. It's just tacky, really. I was raised better.

23. Yeah, Zell is a democrat too......
So what?

My bet is you voted for bush. That's fine if you did, it's a free country or so they say..but full disclosure is the honorable thing to do. Even Zell had enough guts to say so.

I didn't know Cindy had entered the "realm of politics." What office is she running for?

25. She has never asked for sainthood......
She wants an answer. She deserves one. End of story.

If you think she is "fair game" than so is everyone else who tries to smear her. Until all RW personalities/politicians come clean about their sordid skeletons, they also are fair game.

Until all Conservative drug abusers, adulterers, closeted homophobes, loofah lovers, lying hypocrites fess up, they have no right to smear Cindy. They should answer her question or shut the fuck up!

They get no free pass from me, regardless how religious they pretend to be.

29. You seem to be spouting RW talking points.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Cindy had already met with * a year ago.

As a citizen of this country, Cindy has every right to demand an answer from this administration given all of the new info that has surfaced regarding our reasons for attacking Iraq.

Her son was killed serving this country under *'s watch, you may call it political, I disagree. We all want answers, are you aware Rumsfeld has refused to meet with any of the Gold Star moms?

24. However, a soldier
especially a volunteer, should be able to believe that he/she won't be placed in harm's way without a good reason. And that competant experts plan and execute any missions said soldier is on. And that same soldier should expect the nation to take care of his family while he/she is deployed (Bush has cut housing allowances to military families) and that the country should take care of him if he should be wounded (VA hospitals have had funding cut). I think the point of many of those in Crawford is that the fighting men and women are not being treated right by our government.

(And by soldiers, I mean also Marines, sailors, and airmen/women)
