Freepers in denial about "Traitorgate"
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 04:01 PM by janekat
Wanted to see what the reaction was over there and they are all in denial!

Adding to my blood pressure going up - I saw the crazy article from NewMax that was posted on this board by someone last night "Wilson: I Made Up Rove Leak Allegation" (the one I pointed out as an example of "Yellow Journalsim"):
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=434128&mesg_id=434128

AND the freepers have all grasped upon this article as the "truth." In fact, they have been all faxing it in to Rush Limbaugh as "proof" that the entire Wilson affair is a lie!

1. Call it "Traitorgate" . . .
Someone on DU thought it up and I think it packs more of a punch. Thanks for your post.

2. It's interesting...
...the way most of them are fixated on Wilson's blaming Rove. They seem to be missing the point that there actually was a leak--whether Rove was involved or not. Novak got Wilson's wife's name from someone. Classic Repuke tactic, fixate on only one aspect and ignore the larger picture. Dumbasses.

3. Some good ones from the freeper thread
"Bill Clinton appointee."

- Yep. Don't let facts cloud your hatred.

"Ask Novak who gave him her name, then shoot the SOB or DOB! End of story!"

- That would be interesting.

"I cannot believe this story has any tread right now. Has anyone in the media ever heard of a little thing called facts?"

- You wouldn't recognize a fact if it bit you in your red commie ass.

"it's not against the law if the Director approves the disclosure. I think they wanted her burned, and did it legally."

- Ahhhh. How many sword-falls can Tenat endure?

"maybe we have less jobs, maybe things are not as well as they were a few years ago in the job market, but I am just having so much fun watching these liberals step all over themselves with each little itty bitty story."

5. Why do these people think that if they can discredit Wilson
this will go away? Novak wrote the story. He is the one that said that someone from the white house told him.

10. A self-confirmed Republican CIA anaylst/operative on NewsHour
is pissed. He was livid that this administration would do something like this. The deniers over at Freeperville ought to wake up soon and understand that this stuff transcends politics...we're talking a junta that is trying to intimidate and buy silence while they rape our Treasury and destroy the fabric of our society.

This is not the actions of an American democracy. This is the way a little dictator in a Banana Republic operates.

7. Whats really scary -
Is that the only article they seem to be reading or paying any attention to is that propagazdized article. They don't choose to hear any more information other than that. It's like they were all fed this info from someone and they all just fall in line like good little sheeples.

It just shows how the media can manipulate people by "feeding" them select information.

Notice how slanted this NewsMax story is?

"Wilson: I Made Up Rove Leak Allegation"

.....But he told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday that he got "carried away" and made up the Rove allegation out of thin air.

"In one speech I gave out in Seattle not too long ago, I mentioned the name Karl Rove," Wilson told GMA. "I think I was probably carried away by the spirit of the moment."

Wilson then confessed, "I don't have any knowledge that Karl Rove himself was either the leaker or the authorizer of the leak."

Wilson insisted, however, "I have great confidence that, at a minimum, condoned it and certainly did nothing to shut it down."

8. They can moan and bitch all they want...
but deep in their cold little hearts, they know this is big. That's why they're trying to so hard to convince themselves that it isn't.
