Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle Autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush. I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die.
-anon.

Of the memorial we held for my late sister. Oh crap......I miss her!!!!!!
I gave the eulogy - and used the premise of that poem. I talked about God giving us these wonderful senses. I said that my eyes will miss her face, and my ears will miss her laugh, and my arms will miss hugging her, but deep down, I know she is with me as I can feel her spirit. A sixth sense knowing in my heart of hearts that she is well.
Lordy -those other senses sure do make it tough though some days.

That's my favorite poem and expresses my beliefs.
We read it at my son's funeral and placed it on his Memorial brochure. I've been wanting to send it to Cindy as it should be very comforting.

Though I'm agnostic. I believe we live on in the way we touched others, be they family, friends or strangers. Family lines come and go, but the ripples you make in this life can so subtly and forever alter the course of human history. In this way, we are immortal.
