Cindy may be back as soon as Sunday in Crawford
Regarding the condition of Cindy Sheehan's mother, there is guarded optimism. At this point, it seems that the stroke may not be as serious as was feared. Cindy is hoping to return on Sunday, but nothing is definite.

I'm hoping the stroke wasn't too serious, if Cindy can make it back or not this is good news.

5. I agree
Cindy puts people before any thing, she will do the right thing. The girl hears her soul loud and clear.

10. I think you're being presumptuous to make this decision for her.

7. Great news!
I'm glad her mother is getting better! My heart goes out to Cindy and the decisions she's had to make these past weeks. She's a stand up gal and I have faith that she's doing what it right! Whatever that may be, is not for me to say. I've seen nothing but pure love and honesty coming from Cindy, and while no one is perfect.....she's been a true inspiration! Bid hugs for Cindy and her Mother...and her sister!!!

11. America needs her to come back soon! But her mother needs her now, and
she's already sacrificed her son for an un-noble cause.

13. our local ABC news says she 'might not be able to return'
and made it seem there was some recent developement.

The story was about the motorcycle parade? that was in Crawford in support of war and *moron. Then tacked on this info at the last about Cindy.

Actually, it sounded like they were implying some reason she wouldn't be able to return...or something. Is there a law that could keep her out of Crawford?

14. I don't think there's a law forbidding her return
Honestly, if her mother isn't doing well I'm sure she will stay. This update was from 6:45 this evening so I'm not sure if anything new has developed since then or not.

I was told by a person there that the media spin was expected to be that Cindy wasn't returning and it was over. That was yesterday, however. This may be some of what they were predicting?

16. this was on the 11pm news
and a search on the ABC news site returned nothing of any info.

other than the disgusting piece about the war supporters camp set up.

CRAWFORD, Texas Aug 20, 2005 — A patriotic camp with a "God Bless Our President!" banner sprung up downtown Saturday, countering the anti-war demonstration started by a fallen soldier's mother two weeks ago near President Bush's ranch.

The camp is named "Fort Qualls," in memory of Marine Lance Cpl. Louis Wayne Qualls, 20, who died in Iraq last fall.

"If I have to sacrifice my whole family for the sake of our country and world, other countries that want freedom, I'll do that," said the soldier's father, Gary Qualls, a friend of the local business owner who started the pro-Bush camp. He said his 16-year-old son now wants to enlist, and he supports that decision.

Qualls' frustration with the anti-war demonstrators erupted last week when he removed a cross bearing his son's name that was among hundreds the group had put up along the road to Bush's ranch.

Qualls called the protesters' views disrespectful to soldiers, and said he had to yank out two more crosses after protesters kept replacing them.

how benevolent of him to sacrifice his whole family. . . yet not himself.

17. What a charming man
Isn't he the same person who came out to the camp prior to removing that cross and cried with Cindy over the deaths of their sons? Do you recall anything like that also? I may have the name wrong, but I don't think so.

And Ann Wright(?) spoke to him at first.

20. Looky what I found.
Anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan speaks to the media after an area land owner fired off his shotgun in the air during an interfaith prayer service at Sheehan's camp near Crawford, Texas, Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005. Sheehan attempted to talk to the land owner but he did not accept her offer. Her anti-war protest entered its second week, gaining momentum and spurring counter-rallies, as hundreds of people with conflicting opinions about the war in Iraq descended to the peace vigil's makeshift campsite along the road to President Bush's ranch. Scroll down and the pic is there of the two of them hugging. Oddly, this was the only site I found with it, but it's an AP photo so I'm sure it's out there someplace else.

I ask because I have a vacation scheduled at the end of this week and my DH and I were thinking about driving down from Ohio. Could someone PM me? thanks!
