Hopefully a happy thread for we stressed out DU'ers

I'm having a bit of insomnia, so I'm feeling the stress vibes here on DU. Let me try to lighten the mood a bit. My 9 year old son sleeps peacefully in our bedroom nearby. He is such a joy to my heart. He is extremely intelligent, good looking, polite, good hearted, I could go on and on. Proud papa yes. His presence in my life helps make life worth living, even though having to read about the current admin. drags me down. If you have kids or grandkids or are an aunt or uncle, you know what I'm saying here :-)

1. Another bit of happiness...

I too am having insomnia tonight, from reading 'It Can't Happen Here'..so I just checked on my 4 year old who is sleeping, and apparently having such a happy dream that he is giggling in his sleep.

Like the movie 'Monsters', the giggling of a small child can energize a whole city block.

7. I've got insomnia too

have had it for about a week. My son has a friend spending the night, they're running in and out still. Soaking up as much of a Saturday weekend away from school as they possibly can. My son is 9 as well.
I love them so much it just hurts sometimes. My kids used to sleep with us on occasion, after scary movies, or stormy nights. I remember about 2 years ago when my daughter turned 11 all of a sudden she wouldnt sneak in at night. She had grown up alittle and I realized how fast things go......there are alot of firsts with kids, but there are alot of lasts too. Made me sad for awhile, so now I have to get in as much snuggle time with my son before he never sneaks in again.
They grow up too fast!

My nine year old niece came in third place at the wisconsin dell national dance championships. What makes it so grand is that she is a hemophiliac. Her name is Destiny Marie. She's the sweetest little girl. Her song was the Black eyed peas 'where is the love.'
