SCREW 'Meet The Press' (et al) *I* Want To 'Meet The Press' |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 08:31 AM by matcom
I want to start a Sunday TV Show.
'Meet The Press' (and other Sunday shows) should have CITIZEN'S on. Every week.
Let two, or four, or six ORDINARY citizens have their say with Russert. Let CITIZENS debate on air. Make a talk show where THE PEOPLE get to debate and have their say!
What we have now are politicians spewing THEIR talking points every week. That is their job 24/7.
What do THE PEOPLE have to say? Let's hear from THEM for a change! Every one of our politicians is SUPPOSED to be working for US (Repub & Dem)
Let's get a Sunday talk show where WE THE PEOPLE ask THEM (Representatives) questions and get a chance to hold THEM accountable, LIVE on the air.
Surely, that would be ONE thing that BOTH the right and left can agree on. What a GREAT service THAT would be!

3. Who wants to meet with Russert? |
|
He's part of the problem. I'd rather have the citizens meet with his guests.

Even if G.E.RUSSERT is off, it has always been an embarrassment to him when they scope "classic" moments from the past, when there was a PANEL of ACTUAL JOURNALISTS asking HONEST questions. The contrast with G.E.RUSSERT ought to be painful IF he had any shame----"Meet-the-ONE-NON-Journalist-WHORE" is what it should be named.
And message to MTP and ThisWeak: CLICK!!!!!!!! Georgie promo-ed with, "It's never too early to think about presidential elections, and we have THREE potential candidates, Bill RICHARDSON..." CLICK!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the MTP promo was, "Is it time for a deadline for Iraq?" CLICK!!!!!!
Perpetual war and perpetual campaigning.

There would be no control over ordinary citizens. For the journalists and pundits their paycheck is like a choker chain on a well trained dog, threaten to pull it and they fall into line.
No such control on an ordinary citizen.
