2. Well, if you listen to the words of Gen Patton... |
|
He wasn't interested in people dying for their country either.
It's a losing strategy.
Instead... He was interested in, "The other poor bastard dying for his country."
I'm no Patton fan, but, it was "patriotic" when he said it.

smear smear smear. But what they don't get is Cindy is not alone. What about the two moms who just got to Crawford? One had a son who was among the first killed, yet she never got ANYTHING from the President! How is Faux News going to spin that? Oh, I know. Ignore. That's why we must make sure that their stories get out in the mainstream press.

Evelyn Allen and Patricia Roberts. Next time a freeper says to me that Bush met with Cindy before, I'll ask why he won't meet at all with Evelyn Allen and Patricia Roberts.

Cindy started a movement. She has momentum. No matter how hard they try, the RW will NOT slow her down or shut her up.

16. I believe he said he'd puncture his eardrum rather then serve, to |

avoid the draft. He also said it was either Canada or the TANG, he lucked out. So I guess ** definitely thought America was worth dying for then.

7. As Frank Rich pointed out |
|
the Swift Boating of Cindy Sheehan is the usual Bushco attempt to change the subject. The issue isn't Cindy herself, or her "credibility," or her patriotism, or anything other than the fact that her son was sent to die in Iraq for no good reason, while the sons and daughters of the cheerleaders for that war have "other priorities." Cindy doesn't have to be Faux News' idea of the perfectly humble, perfectly polite, perfectly "patriotic" mom. She's doing great--her message is being heard by millions and millions of Americans. And to an awful lot of those people, the truth is evident--the rightwing smear machine is now attacking ordinary moms who've lost their sons in an unpopular, ill-conceived and incompetently conducted imperial adventure.

9. Hey, most of the Republicans think the same thing. Only their wealth is |
|
worth dying for as long as someone else does the dying. Personally, I don't think America as it is now is worth dying for especially when it isn't necessary to die for a nation to love it. What does dying accomplish?

The one that illegally invaded a foreign country and murdered thousands of innocents?
The one that is trying to dismantle the Bill of Rights?
The one that is trying to become a theocracy?
The one that discriminates against women, glbt's, immigrants?
The one that is hell-bent on starting a religious war?
The one that is alienating the entire world?
The one that has made a complete JOKE out of the word democracy and elections by stealing the last two Presidential elections - and who knows how many other elections?
The one that is an embarassment to TRUE Americans?
Well, then Cindy's right. THIS America is NOT worth dying for.
