Another Democrat says stupid thing. Senator Levin |
|
says if the Iraqis don't get their act together, we should leave. Therefore, if they get their act together, then we stay and help.

1. Who is going to define "getting their act together"? |
|
Seems to me they've got it together, and the act can best be stated as Islamic Theocracy.

3. I think the implication is different than what you are painting |
|
if they don't get their act together we should leave immediately, verses going through a training process
Personally, I think it is over, and the sooner we are out of there the better for everyone

...and what I got out of it is that they can't possibly get their "act" together because of the United States' bad decisions, judgements, actions, etc. If that is indeed what he was saying, I think he's right, there is no possible way of it all coming together, it is passed the point of no return.

good quotes from our Dem leaders as well as little known soldiers working behind the scenes trying to help get our country back from those who are so abusing it.

would think that would have said it all....
I guess some people dont need to be hit over the head with a sledgehammer or mowed down with a ak 47 to realize something is amiss, they need to hear it verbally?

12. I wondered if I were the only one angered by that. |
|
He avoided giving an answer about the fact their might be an theocratic govt there now because of us. He sounded as though the Iraqis were lazy and couldn't get their act together.
I was sort of in shock. I am going to find the transcript and post his words later. Then I think I will write him.
Does he talk this way all the time? I never paid much attention.

|
...your conjecture? How about an exact quote? This thread is totally irresponsible.

20. No, actually Levin did not sound very good on this. |
|
I don't think it is an irresponsible thread. He was putting the blame on the Iraqis for not getting things done. He said if they don't we will have to stay....something like that.
It was pretty sad. I will find the transcript and post later.

21. When it begins with "the good guys did something stupid again"... |
|
...and it doesn't even cite a transcript to back it up, it's an irresponsible thread. And notice that the OP hasn't bothered to return to defend his/her/its handiwork.

18. Translation: "The Iraqis are ungrateful to us for wrecking their country." |
|
If those unAmerican Ayrabs had only played their parts as written in the Glorious Liberation script, everything would be hunky-dunky.
How dare they want to run their own country without our "help"?

23. Well everyone keeps using the "when they stand up we stand down" |
|
quote. Well, there are 130,000 or so of us and apparently 170,000 of them. So, why are we stil there? It's because not all of the 170,000 are trained. Well, now we have 30,000 trained was it? So way aren't 30,000 of our troops out of there. The repub kept saying these guys are with out folks on all the military things that are being done. That apparently is their training. After 3 years?
