Patriot Act Experts: Need Help (Regarding Spy Satellite Rules)
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 03:28 PM by matcom
Dadcom worked with spy satellite imagery most of his career. Here is the deal:

PREVIOUS rules (read: LAWS) were that when a new satellite was launched, it was ONLY used to take pics within U.S. boarders for 'testing' purposes (a.k.a. 'Engineering Photos'). After that, they were used to EXCLUSIVELY take photos overseas. This was the LAW and while HE was in, never abused (to his knowledge).

The ONLY way the Agency could get permission to photograph within THIS country was under DIRECT ORDERS from the President after they gave him/(her) a security reason to do so.

Patriot Act experts my question is this: DO YOU KNOW IF THAT LAW CHANGED? (requiring the President to authorize the pics)

this is 10000% important. ANY documentation that you know about will be GREATLY helpful!

thank you in advance.

3. Important for Citizens to Know...
On late night radio last night, i heard someone assert that anyone can access our "spy" satellite from the internet to focus on any specific address anywhere in our country.

Any individual can access the satelite (on line) and determine say, if some one is home for instance - determine if a certain automobile is parked in the driveway or on the street nearby. Now, I haven't personally tried to test this to see if this is actually true or not - but the radio host asserted that it was something anyone can do at this moment in time.

That's a pretty startling claim, but if true, i would think it would be considered a fairly significant breech of security.

But certainly our constitutional right to privacy was essentially thrown out of the constitution when they made the Patriot Act permenant recently.

So, here we are. Brave New World no thanks to the DLC and their Fascists Neo Con Friends in the White House, the Senate, Congress, the Pentagon, U.S. Supreme Court, Justice Department and the Media.
