POLL: stop using "WMD" and go back to "NBC" (nuke, bio, chem)?

The term WMD seems to be an invention of the Bush administration to conflate bio and chemical weapons with nukes.

Apart from being less precise, it is meant to be more inflammatory.

NBC (nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons) is the military term which is more precise and neutral.

Further, whenever possible, we should refer to the specific category, rather than use the blanket term. Saddam gassing his own people is horrific, but different in scale from nuking a neighbor.

Why should we and the press let the Bushies define the terms of the debate, especially in a childish way?

1. Go back to NBC. I've said it for ages.

The term WMD is a bit of a misnomer anyway considering that the only true weapon of mass destruction is nuclear.

2. yep--most chem are weapons of small to medium destruction

Even with optimum conditions, that sarin bomb in Tokyo subway killed a few dozen people at most, and Saddam could only kill lots with chemical when he controlled the airspace, so he could essentially cropdust with it.
