1. How many Republican Congressmen would vote to impeach?
Not enough. People who think Bush would ever get impeached have no understanding of how the system works.

But if we even had a few Repunks
with an ounce of integrity like there apparently was in the 70s - they would march their asses to the White House and tell the freak in chief that it is over - you know kind of like the Republicans that told Nixon to give it up - any Republicans out their with integrity - or are you all like I fear rePUNKS

46. To coin a phrase
They are ALL "made men".
There is only honor among thieves and murderers...and make no mistake, there is blood on their hands as well.
To convict Bush is to convict themselves.
It's not happening.

3. I think
it let him off the hook, and threw all the blame on the intelligence community.

I was really disappointed - not nearly enough stress on how the Executive Branch manipulated the data and screwed the CIA. This was a very Fuckface-friendly show, and I think it stinks.

Hey, be grateful, this is the most damning thing CNN has done
A LOT of people will start asking questions now. Until now if you were a Joe sixpack just watching Fox, MSNBC or CNN all of this would be an eye-opener.

And just wait for the shitstorm tomorrow on the AM hate stations...

19. I totally agree with you.
It was a "Blame It on Intelligence Failures" all the way. And that's a total distortion of what happened.

They took thin intelligence and hyped it and ignored everything that was contrary. I have a 75-page chronology of this. You can't read that chronology and put the blame solely on the intelligence community.

No mention of PNAC, Cheney's repeated lies, Chalabi, Judy Miller, Rice, the White House Iraq Group, gutless Presidential candidates, the November 2002 elections and most of all, our wonderful Prez.
And poor deluded Colin Powell.

It was crap.

I was very disappointed by this.

how dark and cruel this world can be!

meanwhile, i spose the dozen or so missing women of color just don't fucking rate on a national scale, right? and as terrible as a missing person story is, i'm sorry, but it doesn't rate lead-off status in my world, or even major story status. give me some new about something that impacts me, like what are the particulars of the energy bill, why don't the troops in iraq and afghanistan have the body armor they need, still? why is gasoline more expensive than a year ago? why is america building a military a military base in paraquay? is it too fucking much to ask for the news to give me news?

7. They should have titled it "TENET WAS DEAD WRONG"
I think at one point they asked the question as to whether the Bush Administration would have gone to war anyway, even without the CIA intelligence. I heard something like "we will never know". That's about all they said about Bush's intent. To me, this was an attempt to pin the blame on George Tenet and give Bush an excuse. I also note the emphasis CNN made of the fact that Tenet was a Clinton appointee, right at the start of the program.

8. Yes, it should be but it won't get him impeached.....
there is more to the story than what was revealed tonight. bush, cheney and the rest are and were lying right from the beginning. They didn't give a damn what the evidence was and I believe they knew there were no WMD's all along. They are a bunch of slimy, sleazy, lying low lifes and the sad part is they are running this country and we can't seem to stop them. They are ALL criminals who belong in prison for life.

10. CNN of course DID NOT go far enough
Every time they came really close to blaming it ALL on lies. They would hedge. But it is a beginning. Notice the article from the times they showed on the "tubes" was co written by Judy THe liar Miller!

34. I was looking to see if they were going to show Judith Miller's name on...
the article and they did. Too bad they did not discuss the CIA leak case and the Niger lies. They missed a whole load of information that would take a while to name each item.

In any case like I said in another post in this thread was that being it was CNN, it was ok. People in the news these days are so afraid of being labeled a conspiracy theorist, that the alarming parts of the truth have become taboo.

11. Probably not while they control everything, but it did do two things:
1. I think the message was very clear that the neocons were bullying the CIA for what they wanted, although I think they put more of that on cheney than on junior.

2. I think it really helps Cindy's cause. It just underlines everything that Cindy is asking questions about.

15. I think CNN has changed some minds tonight
and you will see it in the next poll.

Impeachment will swing on two major things

1) How well Dems do in 06. -Not just getting the votes back in Congress, but also scaring the hell of the the Repub Sens and Reps so that they are willing to distance themselves from Bush to save their own ass.

2) After 06, where popular sentiment is on whether the Bushies lied.

23. Pretty good ...for CNN. Mostly a whitewash for Bush. Just blamed CIA.
They made it seem like it was the fault of the intelligence community and not the administration.

There were some good spots. Unfortunately the piece looked to not be alarmist. They could have mentioned the CIA leak case, Judith Miller (besides the NY Times article bearing her name that they showed), and Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

29. They bought the WMD crap, they bought Sadam was an evil man that needed to
be removed, they bought that there was a connection between Iraq and Al Quaida, and now they are buying the crap about "spreading democracy keeps us safe" and "fight them over there" crap.

They believe crap because they WANT to believe crap.

After 9/11, the sheeple wanted blood, and they didn't and DON'T CARE how they get it. They don't care about PNAC and plans of Murikan imperialism. They want their ounce of flesh...even if it means alot of the blood spilling comes from our soldiers.

There is no way to get the cabal out of office unless the people become satiated from the blood-letting, disgusted with the wingers' attempts to control their lives and thoughts, and unless the economy hurts them strongly in their paycheck. Then, maybe they will vote repukes out.

The momentum needs to build to force him to resign. Yes, I know, the truly evil one will become president, but he, and the republicans generally, would be revealed for what they are, and for the balance of his term he would be hobbled.

42. i watched it again . . .
i agree that it mostly gives bushco a pass. however, there are a few times where it is implied that the admin shared the responsibility . . . particularly referencing the dsm and the part where one of them talked about losing their job if they did not tell the admin what it wanted to hear.

it's a start!

i hope y'all watched the national geographic show. it includes the instances where the warnings were ignored . . . by the agency and by the admin.

2nd of the 2 parts is on tonight.
