Why is wanting the soldiers home not "Supporting the Troops" I'm confused
I would think that peacefully protesting to bring the troos home from a country where they are getting BLOWN TO PIECES is the ULTIMATE form of support!!! These conservative zombies who claim to so "support the troops" and who drive around with their little yellow magnet ribbons on their damn cars apparently show their support by LEAVING them there to rot. I really dont get it, I'm totally confues. it's like I'm living in another world or something. Can anyone explain this??

1. Bush voters don't want to admit they were wrong or duped or whatever
So they've glommed onto this Rove tactic of an ad hominem attack instead of debating the issues of this war. That's how I see it.

7. WHY IS WANTING THE SOLDIERS HOME, NOT SUPPORTING THE TROOPS?
Howdy Partners:

Well I'd say gettin these boys home is about as supportin as it gets. I think these wounded soldiers would agree.

3. When wingers say "supporting the troops" what they mean is
"supporting the war".

They don't really understand the distinction....

5. It's counterintuitive, I think.
They support the troops by allowing an AWOL neer-do-well use them as political pawns in his support for Big Oil's bottom line. From their standpoint, everyone of them are expendable, as long as their mini-dictator does not lose face.

But watch watch happens as soon as a Democratic President regains office. They will immediately question why he has not pulled our boys out of harms way.....and blame Clinton.

6. Stop asking questions and shut up! Traitor!
Stop using logic - it just hurts the brains of the neocon death cult.

9. It's the difference between supporting the war and supporting the troops
I had this discussion today with a person who said I was anti-troop. After about 10 minutes of my telling them how I thought they were supporting the deaths of our soldiers by supporting a war based on lies that was being as poorly managed as Enron, they really just wanted away from me.

While I doubt I changed their mind I do think they'll think twice before they use that meme again.

They really need to come up with something that's no so ludicrously easy to toss back in their faces.
