Wanna know why CNN ran "Dead Wrong?" |
|
It's pretty clear. I think SOMEBODY UP THERE suddenly realized what a disaster we're headed for and has decided they need to pull the plug on the upcoming Iran invasion. And the surest way to do that is to pull the plug on the whole Bush administration.

3. I think this was payback from the CIA lifers |
|
They've been manipulated, lied to, jerked around and finally blamed for 9/11 and pre-war Iraq intellignce.
Maybe "someone" had a little sit-down with CNN and explained what REALLY happened.

Many career CIA see the current and potential destruction if this lot aren't stopped.
Already, American intelligence is seen as suspect due to the intense political interference now proven.
They want to bring America back to a former position of prestige in the world, instead of a laughing stock.

The point was made that these events were originated by the Presidents sitting at the thime, and the CIA was the "whipping boy" when things went wrong.
This program is aiming very high in its implicit fixing of blame.

37. Its a business. Since when is it cynical to assume, rightly, |
|
that cnn and any other media business will follow the trend away from support for the war? When or if they need to swing back into full blown support for the right they will do that too.
That's reality, not cynicism.

27. You may think you're being fashionably cynical, but |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 11:05 PM by Jackpine Radical
you're not half, not a tenth, not a hundredth cynical enough.
First, this is not a big money-maker type of show. It is, in fact, a very risky and courageous thing to put on the air.
Second, even if there were money to be made here, that isn't the primary function of the corporate media. The CM serve primarily as the propaganda wing of the Corporate State. The airing of this show is a strong indication that there is now a high-stakes war going on among the ruling elite in this country.
All hell is about to break loose. Just remember that you heard it here first.

watching! Now it is clear to anyone who depends on cable TV for their news that the whole thing was a pack of lies. The administration looks like the shits we've all known they are. The CIA looks terrible.
The only thing the freepers can say is that it's the liberal media turning on the "president". It should be interesting to see who jumps ship in the coming days and who turns on CNN.
I hope you're right about it stopping an attack on Iran, but I doubt that it would if the neocons have decided to go for it. People better start writing to their representatives with some real urgency!

JPR, I only hope that you are correct about this.
I fear that it was just an offering -- in an inconspicuous spot on their broadcast day, of the controversies surrounding the war. Air it, and forget it. Maybe they only supported the neocon war 23/7 this week....
I seriously doubt that the information/message this program conveyed will be repeated during their high rating programming.
I only WISH the networks were pulling the plug on their support of this insane war which has only made things worse -- in spite of destroying close to 2000 Americans and countless Iraqis. But I will hope. Slowly, mainstream America turns away from Bush. The sooner the better. God bless America.

18. Well, we live in a Corporatocracy. |
|
And, when our ruling Corporate Overlords determine that their sockpuppet shrub* is no longer profitable, he will be replaced by another sockpuppet to appease our "unrest".
Shrub* will become politcally unprofitable--a liability, even--well before 2006, ensuring defeat for any repug that still claims fealty to him. This will lead to Dem victories in 2006, possibly enough to impeach & convict, depending on the level of public outrage (i.e., how well the corporate media has managed our thinking).
If the Corporate Media Cartel could get Clinton impeached, then can easily get shrub* impeached if they have the proper incentive to do so. And you'd better believe that the incentive is not a noble one. Don't believe for a second that CNN has had a change of heart.

|
They even have their minions believing that the CIA is full of liberal bureaucrats just wanting to screw shrub. Yea, you know the CIA is full of all of the leftover hippies from the 60's.
I'll never understand how anyone agreed with Flush's little "clinton news network" while CNN ran Monica Lewinsky everyday all day for two years straight.

If this is an honest hit piece on the Bush administration, the idiots on freerepubic would have discovered what was going on and would have probably threatened the executives over there at CNN for airing it.

It is about time the MSM started telling the truth. I am getting the feeling it is all going bad for the Bushies right now. I can not see how they can get out of this. Plamegate, Cindy, Iraq going to hell, gas at 2.75 a gallon, republicans everywhere being arrested for fraud, etc; How can CNN ignore the truth

A public airing is just about the last step in the fang-pulling operation. At some point they need to provide the proles with some sort of explanation for why the Popular Wartime President is wearing that funny orange suit.
