It was the most frustrating experience in my life, yet one of the most moving ones also.

I asked everyone I came in contact with "So what do we do to stop the war?" and no one had an answer. We have been opposing this war since Feb 2003 with 12+million in the streets around the world protesting, yet it did nothing.

I need to do something. Do we need to tip over cars? Burn the flag? Rush the *&^%ing whitehouse? Pick up every congressman and throw them out of our house?

Hey folks, we have kids dying in Iraq on a daily basis. Someone give me an idea of what the hell to do.

I am at a loss, and I am tried of losing.

1. It Is All About Education Man! We Have To Educate America.

You should have asked me. I have an answer for you! Be frustrated no more!

The camp Casey development is just a catalyst. Many more people are speaking out. There is truth. We must take that truth to the streets and every damn corner on the street. Destroy public support/tollerance and the war will be ended by all of the politcos that fear loosing their jobs.

In short, spread the truth and leverage the growing dissent against the elected.

Worked last time. I know it is slow. But, I see no other way...

2. The pressure of more and more people
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 02:57 AM by shraby
protesting the war plays on the minds of politicians who want to get re-elected. Enough people with enough pressure will put an end to the war, just like during Vietnam. Politicians have one goal in life and that's re-election. Nothing else matters.

One difference between Nam and now is during Nam the majority of protestors were college aged kids and younger which were easier for the pols to ignore. This time it's those same kids only grown to adults with children and grand-children plus the college aged. With the adult addition, the protests are peaceful but absolutely as determined to make a change. That cannot be ignored. With a catalyst like Cindy, it can only grow to immense proportions. To a politician, that's a scary sight.

edited to add.
