CNN Has A Hard-On For Eric Rudolph Today
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 01:15 PM by Dinger
Every fucking 5 minutes (I'm not kidding) they talk about his mom giving an interview. blah blah blah

So far, they seem sympathetic to him, probably for his bombing of an abortion clinic. Asking her if she was surprised he survived in the mountains, Her saying she does not see him as a monster, etc..

1. Isn't there more to Eric Rudolph than bombing abortion clinics?
I seem to recall that his name popped up in relation to something else criminal.

8. He also bombed a woman's clinic in Sandy Spring
After that bombing, he had another bomb in a trash can, timed to go off about an hour after the first one, when the maximum number of first responders and media would be there.

He's nothing but a terrorist coward.

so, no, silly, he's not just about bombing abortion clinics.. He's a multi-talented rennaisance man!

I'm totally kidding.

He blew up a gay bar or two, AND he was responsible for the blast at the Atlanta Olympics.

But, really, the fact that he went after the Olympics and some of them durn queers along with the sinnin' abortionationists didn't diminish his "hero" status in some eyes. As wikipedia notes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Robert_Rudolph

It is thought that Rudolph had the assistance of sympathizers while evading capture. Some in the area were vocal in support of him. Two country music songs were written about him and a locally top-selling T-shirt read: "Run Rudolph Run." Many Christian Identity adherents are outspoken in their support of Rudolph; the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil rights group, notes that "extremist chatter on the Internet has praised Rudolph as 'a hero' and some followers of hate groups are calling for further acts of violence to be modeled after the bombings he is accused of committing."

2. Yeah, and a big "I apologize" on the web page.
Like that means anything!

They need to be calling Rudolph a domestic terrorist, and until they do, they're intellectually dishonest hypocrites.

(Honestly, why are they kissing this murderer's ass? OK, I get (though don't agree with) wanting to appeal to conservatives, but this guy's a MURDERER. Only total fringers support him. Who do they think they're making happy with this shit??)

7. CNN has its roots in Atlanta
Eric Rudolph bombed us on three separate occasions, killing one person directly, wounding several others, and giving us a black eye during what should have been our finest moment.

People here care very deeply about seeing this asshole pay for what he did. This is a huge story and CNN is covering all angles.

10. In the future, every terrorist will be famous for 15 minutes
Poor Eric's had a lot longer than that, the murderous asshole.

I've been sickened by the coverage of his escapades since the beginning, when networks have discussed with teary fondness the help he got from the locals while he was in hiding, which came across as helping a fellow Christian in need rather than aiding and abetting a known terrorist.

The thing that really galls me is that during his trial, networks either played or read his pulpit speeches without refutation or comment, so that his invocations of a righteous crusade came across as a CNN-endorsed policy.

Sickening. And yet when ELF activists spraypaint a Hummer, they're treated, even in absentia, as though they'd given up the nuclear secret to the Ruskies.

It's a good thing that murderous, far-right extremists have CNN and other members of The Liberal Media to air their views; otherwise, how could they spread the good news about murdering and maiming?
