A Penis is such a Precious Thing
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 02:02 PM by Sandpiper
If one does not have one, one must surely hearken unto those that do!

Or, in the words of PNACer Reuel M. Gerecht on Meet the Press:

"If Iraqis could develop a democracy that resembled America in the 1900s, I think we'd all be thrilled. I mean, women's social rights are not critical to the evolution of democracy. We hope they're there. I think they will be there. But I think we need to put this into perspective."

11. Not to be annoying, or anything
But if we want to impose a democracy on Iraq, would we wise to impose our ideas of democracy on them, instead of allowing them to decide what their own democracy should be?

I'm just askin'.....

(I realize women had rights under Saddam's regime and that they will be screwed to the wall under the islamic law that Iraq is about to choose.
However, its not my fucking country and I don't think we should have invaded them to begin with)

At what point do we sanction human rights violations. Make no mistake about it, this IS a human rights violation for 1/2 of the population.

So, how many more American troops would you be willing to sacrifice to impose your idea of women's rights on a radical islamic theocracy? (make no mistake, this is what they are and will be and only were not in the past because of Saddam)

Please don't volunteer my sons.

Thank you.

32. Hey.
I am and was absolutely and totally and inalterably against invading Iraq. And the notion that we could turn it into a Jeffersonian democracy by bombing it to smithereens and torturing its citizens and stealing its oil, would be something for writers of farce, had it not been so expensive in blood and treasure.

28. Wow, your anger is quite displaced ...
I reserve my anger for supporters of Bush, his evil cabal and those that support the RW and neo con philosophy.

From your statement I am lead to believe that you ascribe to the theory that the US is NOT applying any political pressures at this point in Iraq.

Perhaps you are correct and the US is not attempting to protect corporate holdings (etc) in Iraq, throughout this process. I think that position is VERY wrong.

I believe that the US is protecting very specific interests at this time ---- it IS a crime against humanity that the human rights of women are not even a thought (despite the pending loss of HUMAN RIGHTS, is a direct result of American action) during this process (but, corporate rights are)

I value human rights over corporate rights EVERY time.

Bush may not have my sons or my DAUGHTERS.

I do not suggest offering up the children of the ignorant, either. (I mourn every freeper or offspring of a freeper death "over there" as well as those supporting my position)

30. If you 'value' these human rights
and are not willing expend or risk the lives of those dear to you to gain them for a country, the majority of whose citizens are not in favor of such rights, but want someone else to do that for you, then I'm not sure how to respond.

Let me just say that this outcome was not simply utterly predictable, but inevitable and those trying to find silver linings in these dark clouds by pretending that somehow we were going to turn the Green Zone into the U.S. Constitutional Convention plus the women's suffrage movement of the 1900's are simply, shall we say, somewhat overly optimistic.

That is OK. I do NOT need to know.

This outcome in Iraq was VERY predictable, I think that is why we are expressing outrage here ... this should have been anticipated and addressed long before now, IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER REACHED this point! This thread has been about anger and commiseration ... I am sorry that my outrage has caused you such discomfort.

Bush CANNOT be trusted with anyone's children ... he will not utilize them in moral or just manner (ie he will not use troops to insure others basic human rights)

Peace

44. It is very frustrating
I am deeply sorry that Iraqi women will be relegated to the status of chattels, especially after they have lived in a country that did not require them to act like doormats and a country that allowed them to worship whatever religion they chose, to drive cars and to work. George Bush has sent them back to the Middle Ages.

All that is about to change.

I'm just concerned that this latest disasterous consequence of the invasion not be turned into a cry to keep troops in Iraq which is supported by the left. I am not in favor of staying there for one more nanosecond.

Peace.

13. Oh. My. God. This happened YESTERDAY?
What exactly was the point to Shrubbie's little speech then in March of last year where he talked about women's rights being oh so important in the Middle East?

If we aren't going to make a true democracy, and that includes women, the disabled, those with different skin, all faiths, and cultures, then we are completely in the wrong there and need to just leave.

Unfreakinbelieveable. :wtf:

15. Penis Envy
If I had a penis
I'd wear it outside
In cafes and car lots
With pomp and with pride
If I had a penis
I'd pamper it proper
I'd stay in the tub
And use me as a stopper

If I had a penis
I'd take it to parties
Stretch it and stroke it
And shove it at smarties
I'd take it to pet shows
And teach it to stay
I'd stuff it in turkeys
On Thanksgiving Day

I'd rival my buddies
In sports cars and stick shifts
I'd shower my spire
With girlies and gifts
I'd peek around corners
I'd aim at my toilet
I'd poke it at foreigners
I'd soap it and oil it

If I had a penis
I'd run to my mother
Comb out the hair
And compare it to brother
I'd lance her, I'd knight her
My hands would indulge
Pants would seem tighter
And buckle and bulge

A penis to plunder
A penis to push
'Cause one in the hand
Is worth one in the bush
A penis to love me
A penis to share
To pick up and play with
When nobody's there

I'd sit like a boy
I'd straddle the chair
I'd play with my fly
Albeit with care
I'd dip it in chocolate
I'd stick it in sockets
I'd stroll to the movies
With hands deep in pockets

I'd stick in vacuums
On vacant verandahs
Gas guzzling Volvos
And poodles and pandas
In puddles and drainpipes
In doggies and ditches
Pool halls and potholes
And bottles and bitches
Zucchinis and zebras
Tomatoes, tomatoes
In pineapples, pumpkins
And gulches and grottos
In melons and marshmallows
Gloves and gorillas
Slurpies and slippers
Chinooks and chinchillas

A penis to plunder
A penis to push
'Cause one in the hand
Is worth one in the bush
A penis to love me
A penis to share
To pick up and play with
When nobody's there

If I had a penis
I'd climb every mountain
I'd force it on females
I'd pee like a fountain
If I had a penis
I'd still be a girl
But I'd make much more money
And conquer the world.

17. Isn't that the point of a representative democracy?
the rights of all citizens? I mean, in BushCo's world of unfettered capitalism disguised as democracy, maybe women's rights are not critical.

Hard to believe we are even having this discussion in this day and age.

35. Yes, as Noel Coward was NOT heard to say recently....
GOOD EVENING, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, HERE'S A LITTLE NUMBER I TOSSED
OFF RECENTLY IN THE CARIBBEAN.

Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis,
Isn't it frightfully good to have a dong.
It's swell to have a stiffy,
It's divine to own a dick.
From the tiniest little tadger,
To the world's biggest prick.
So three cheers for your willy or John Thomas.
Hooray for your one-eyed trouser snake.
Your piece of pork,
Your wife's best friend,
Your Percy or your cock.
You can wrap it up in ribbons,
You can slip it in your sock.
But don't take it out in public
Or they will stick you in the dock,
And you won't come back.

Overbearing, clueless, world begins and ends at his bellybutton or lower, never is wrong--my ex husband.

I remember asking him one time during an argument after he had just stepped out of the shower if his penis didn't ever feel like an extra part. Legitimate question from a female, I believe. I can't imagine not being tempted to be concious of the weight of an extra part. For some men, it weighs more than others.

Before the flamethrowers come out, I do love men.

why does this not surprise me that they are non-exsistent in Iraq now?

I guess women will be stoned back to the stone ages for any crimes perpetrated against them, again. How did it ever end up that Saddam treated women so much better than the "democracy" we have "given" them?
