I don't understand something |
|
In regards to a poll I saw earlier on the discussion boards, I would like to ask you all something. The poll was "which crowd to you agree with?" Your choices were the Anti-war "Camp Casey" crowd, and the Pro-War "Fort Qualls" crowd.
My question is why would ANYONE consider themself "pro-war." It's the 21st century, don't you think that the human race would have figured out that war is bad. I know they are referring to this specific war that we are involved in, but I thought the Repugs were so good at framing issues that they would have figured out a way to make the Anti-war crowd seem like kooks. I would have expected them to call themselves the "pro-troop" crowd or something, which would make us the "anti-troop" crowd (even if it's untrue) and paint us as evil, anti-american crazies.
They did it with abortion (if they're "pro-life" are we "pro-death"?), why not with war as well? Just kinda curious....

1. There are plenty of people who are pro-war and proud of it. |

Scary, but very true.
Much of Bush's administration, for example, thinks that we can reshape the world with a series of wars.

7. True. Though, many just parrot whatever the administration says. |

Gotta believe the Preznit, right? Except, of course, when it was Clinton.

6. yep. And they're usually people who couldn't fight their way out of a |
|
paper bag. So go figure.
They're happy to be pro-war as long as it's not they who do the fighting.

It is only rare that the use of military force is necessary. In the countless offences of 20 and 21st centuries you can count on your hands the number of times military force can be justified (WW 1 and WW 2 are good examples).
