1. most callers saying yes--but many responses as to the 'why'--PNAC
the lack of the draft, people waking up, information trickling in, troops lost. etc

8. There were two recent editorials in the New York Times saying
Gore won, plus references on msnbc.com, Salon and some blogs on the same topic. Even at the height of Watergate or Viet Nam, no one was questioning whether Nixon or Johnson was actually the President. There is definitely something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear...

16. Every camel's back is different, the same straw doesn't break
each one. I myself think the tipping point was when the White House stenographer's corps got all over Scottie about Rove and did not wake up in Gitmo because of it.

10. You listening to 90.7 in Delafield??
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 05:02 PM by cmt928
My husband is and told me people from all over the state are calling in and tired of this mis-administration!

Good - the ball is rolling on this!

Maybe Wiscosnin is more blue after all ... the last two elections were so close I was worried for a while.

Peter Donalds in for Ben Merens - 08/22L

Speaking to a group of veterans earlier today in Salt Lake City, President Bush defended his Iraq war policy. Meanwhile, protesters organized to voice their opposition to the war. After four, Peter Donalds opens up the phone lines to hear what you have to say about where we go from here."

24. my take in listening-was that for many there was a trust that the govern
knew what they were doing (no, one actually said this)--but, as time went on--and people started listening, and reading--they 'woke up" as they said.

23. Gas prices along with Cindy might have provked the "Tipping Point.'
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 05:23 PM by KoKo01
Nothing works with the "sleeping Sheeples" like high gas prices in their SUV's and Hummers. (I don't have a gripe with SUV drivers like many on DU...when it's an SUV against a MAC TRUCK on I-95, I'd rather be in an SUV, even though I don't drive one). But...

Jimmy Carter got terrible Blow Back because of the Energy Crisis and the Hostages.

It's similar here. Folks thought if we Invaded Iraq we'd be safer..and maybe in the back of their "greedy little hearts" that oil would be OURs Forever. But, instead we get dead and maimed troops, and cooling that McMansion is getting costly...and those who Re-Fi'd to the Max and bought all that Shore Property are getting nervous with talk about "Bubbles" and "red tides" down in the Gulf in Florida, and when they eat out their food tastes like crap..and service is surley, and they are starting to wonder..:wtf:

28. My Dentist whose 50 Years Old and went to Dental School on funds
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 05:46 PM by KoKo01
from being a Reservist in his college days, now has to give up patients so he can help repair what's been done to our troops as part of his required service in National Guard.

He feels he's lucky that he hasn't been sent over there. :eyes: This Bush War is affecting many folks beyond the "conscripts"(i.e. the poor who need to sign up because there are NO American Jobs) who don't have much say and spilling over into the lives of the "professionals" who are being called back to serve here at home...repairing our troops who didn't die...but have terrible injuries.

How many Orthopedic Surgeons, General Surgeons and the rest...who paid for Medical School on ROTC Scholarships are now finding they can't practice because their military service is now impeding with their practices. Under Clinton they got their McMansions but now they have wives and kids and they are being required to go and do "Extra Duty" when they thought they would only have to do a couple of weekends a month.

This also, might be why the "Tipping Point" is coming. No one here cares about the "Illegals" who signed up with BIG BONUSES...but it comes home to roost when Professionals have to give up income, patients grow impatient...because their Guard Service is imperative...and mandated they have to delay procedures and schedule months in advance and appointments may be broken because of that time delay. BTW...My Dentist was ALL FOR BUSH...AND VOTED FOR HIM...Now he pays the price.

29. You are right. I didn't think much about it. I expected an unresolvable
mess but the Freepers really believed George was going to pull it off and are now having a meltdown. I am so at odds with their thinking that I missed the significance. Looks like they are helping the Caliphate - poetic justice.
