1. I haven't seen any
except Shelia Jackson Lee the other day....

That rw woman on Maher last Friday night used this as a talking point....that you won't see "mainstream" Democrats down in Crawford lending their support to Cindy...this is supposed to prove that Cindy is a whackjob....a left-wing whackjob at that......

2. The big names havn't been there, which is a good thing.
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 07:48 PM by ocelot
They would just be accused of grandstanding. But a Minnesota state senator, Becky Lourey, whose son was also killed in Iraq, was there for a couple of days, along with Colleen Rowley, the FBI whistleblower who will be running for Congress in '06.

13. Yes it's curious how people could get that wrong
It's been said the same way for a hundred years, up until the RW propagandists decided it was an insult to cut it short.

DemoCRATIC, as an adjective. DemoCRAT, as a noun. Really very simple.

4. I believe Cindy's Congresswoman was there
a week or so ago. I think it is a shame that Howard Dean and a whole passle of high profile Dems haven't gone there. Hope they will when Cindy comes back.

last week, and I think, Colleen Rowley who's running as a Democrat. Not sure if she was there, but she has come out in support of Cindy. And I know that Rep. Conyers is very supportive of her.

Meant to add that Sen. Byrd came out in support of what she's doing on the Ed Schultz show last week also.

6. Haven't seen any
also---welcome to DU

also, we usually say "Democratic" when referring to our party - the GOP uses the term "Democrat" as in "The Democrat Party is full of Baby Eating Commies." You might get mistaken for a Freeper.

18. Probably Becky Lourey, a state senator from Minnesota.
Her son was a helicopter pilot.

23. Yes, I was going to
mention her also ~ she certainly has a lot in common with Cindy.

I'm wondering about the question regarding Democrats, though. As I recall, Cindy hasn't asked to speak to Democrats.

The question is 'has the President of the US agreed yet to talk to a woman who lost her son in a war that we now know was based on lies'? Iow, has the most prominent Republican in the country been to see her yet? Why is he afraid of her?

22. *g* My husband's fantasy league auction is next weekend. I have to admit,
though, I enjoy the auction more than the rest of the season. *lol*

Still, it's kinda cute watching my little boys start to pay attention to football. The older one is getting into collecting cards with his dad. :)

they have so much to talk about if they could find their balls.

15. Are you perhaps buying into the spin that she is not to be taken seriously
Please dont' since there are many high profile Dems that have made remarks pertaining to Cindy Sheehan and how she should get the audience she desires. John Conyers has information about her on his website and had a letter drafted to that man which other high profile Dems signed asking him to meet with her...
