I'm noticing something about the RW callers to AAR.
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 10:14 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
They seem prone to try and talk and shout over whatever the host is saying.

I don't know if some of these guys are coached plants, or they're so used to hearing their RW heroes like Rush and Hannity and O'Lielly shout over their callers that they feel, as RWers, they are perfectly entitled to do this.

I notice that the AAR hosts as a rule are doing a pretty good job with these callers, but they should not tolerate being shouted over.

They should give these guys one warning and cut their line the next time they try to talk over the host.

2. Ray Talafierro of KGO...
In these situations, he puts up with it for a bit and then he says "I'm going to pipe you down, now." And he lowers the callers volumn, makes his own point and then turns their volumn back up. It's very effective.

10. Ray's a class act.
But when they persist, good ol' Ray comes through with flying colors. He calls them to task.

12. One of our local hosts
Erin Hart in KIRO 710, has had several callers to her show who are the RW blabber mouths who keep yapping and yapping and yapping. She tries to get them to listen, and when they don't, she'll put them on hold, take a few more calls, a commercial break, and puts them on again, and they are STILL talking! It's hysterical!

3. Yup, noticed the same thing lately, especially today...
and wondered if they weren't plants. They start out with strong talking (points) but deflate quickly when pinned down or outsmarted.
Jerry is very good at outsmarting them. They really shouldn't call in if they're going up against a lawyer.

6. The shouters are coached plants IMO.
There are other RW callers who are far more respectful or at least want to get their point across in a non-confrontational way.

There is one shouter who calls in who sounds like the same person to me. It's kind of like it's his job.

8. They have right wing schools catering to right wing 'guests'. Perhaps
they created a division of professional callers and taught them the same techniques. It gets boring very fast when all the words cancel each other out.

For grooming schools - check out any number of foundations listed under the www.townhall.com umbrella listing. Read between the line.

They used to call them seminars during the Clinton era of character assassinations. Arianna Huffington went to one or a couple of them when she was working for the right wing. It came out on Lucianne or Drudge or from her mouth. I think Grover Norquist had his hand in them.

11. I have a question about Huffington (jacking my own thread). In her
writings, has she ever justified being a RW tool in the past and why she did it? Did she say she had some kind of awakening? Or did she say she was being totally cynical and just using her position in the RW for money and fame? Because she WAS quite the RW tool, albeit a very charming one, compared to the Coulter/Malkin school of Harpy Punditry.

And her writings since are very good. She's quite talented.

On her website ARIANNA ONLINE she explains what brought about her transformation.

21. This is impressive, but I need time to read it over two times... something
is bugging me on the first read. I would like to hold less resentment against her and any other 'morphers'. But, I think something is missing in this piece. I need to reread.

17. I am curious, but not enough to study her 'morphing'. I'd like to see
how solid this is. I am wary of people who waffle over such a major alignment. I do not join those who praise her. She has European class - the source of her charm and better manners - but she acted in a vile way in spite of the delivery. I don't see anything yet to repair the damage she did in the 1990's, but I must admit, I just can't go to her website and I know I'm missing some good writers. She would have to work hard against Republicans for many, many years for me to trust her. I don't know why I withhold trust to this degree targeting her.

One thing I remember in ultra-clarity. She was an ace and perhaps a leader in the disgusting trick of the evolving mantra demanding that Clinton trip himself up. It was the JUST trick. It started with 'Just come forward', then 'Just admit', then Just apologize'. There were unending 'justs' in their game. I could practically know the minute they were all instructed to go to the next one. The purpose, evidently, was to create the illusion that there was a groundswell of citizens who were used to put pressure on him and create the illusion that he was guilty as hexx.

The just trick was one example. I found her a very willing participant in the exquisitely orchestrated war against Democrats and the people by removing him from office and creating a situation that would cancel out the shame of the Nixon resignation and threatened impeachment. She was good at it. There was nothing then I could or can forgive her for. She was a complicit and devoted hatchet person.

Now, Clinton is buddy with GHW Bush and some days there is little to justify any anger over their war against him, but I also feel it was a war against the people of this country - a war at a gutter and sewer level that really revealed the vileness of native born and feign born activist seekers - people who were willing to work for fanatics in the takeover and control of the other people.

14. Right-wingers in general tend to shout.
When they write their angry e-mails they use all caps and do that !!!!!!!!11 thing. It's a way of shouting in print.

It's clear that they think volume = believability.

15. On Randi and Majority Report today it was quite the opposite...
Check out this MP3 of Janeane going OFF on a RWer on their show. It's hilarious.

Here's the link it came from

Before that Randi went off on a recruiter who called her show.

It was the day for wingers to call AAR and try to tell us how wrong we are to not trust and blindly follow little boots. As if!! :)

16. Randi frequently talks over her sympathetic liberal callers. They seem
not to take it badly for the most part but I think it's rude and the wrong thing to do.

19. What are you... Hey... HEY... HEY!!!... ... ... ...BITCH!!!
I just loved that. Randi couldn't get a word in. Never heard her say bitch since. The old bat just went on and on and on. She was a whackjob, but at least an original one. Her producer was giggling relentlessly, repeating "HEZBOLLAH! HEZBOLLAH!"

20. Easy solution, give the hosts a volume control
As the Reichwingnut gets louder, the host can turn down the volume.
