Are Americans Pathetic or What?
5 years with a dangerous maniac at the helm and no signs of impeachment or revolution on the horizon at all. we should all be ashamed of ourselves the way we've let this tiny band of psychopaths fuck up the world.

2. because we all know that revolutions always end well
Like Lenin's Bolshevik Revolution really improved Russia, and Mao's revolution made the lives of the Chinese so much better.

23. there was, but I don't think (and I'm not alone) it should be
called a revolution. It was a war for independence. It didn't change the social order the way the French or Russian revolution did. Rich white men were still in charge.

have taken responsibility for their history which puts them head and shoulders above Americans (who to this day have the unmitigated gall to wag fingers in others' faces).

The GOOD NEWS is the "hard core stupid" are down to 36%! :bounce:

What is the real solution to this problem? Don't say that the Democrats will save us because they're not going to unfortunately. They have no real leadership that has stepped up to the plate, that has been accepted by the country at large. We saw what happened to Howard Dean for showing a little fiery passion at a rally. John Kerry did not really step up at all. When he did, it was too little too late.
I don't know if the Democratic party can frame Hilary Clinton in a nice, neat little package and sell her to the American people. I do think obviously she will run. I don't think that our country is ready for a female president, let alone her being the person for the job.

15. we don't inhabit our country as others do theirs
Sociologists have been discussing this a lot lately - Americans don't perceive their country as a "safe place" to protest, as others do theirs. We mainly see ourselves as hiding from the government (probably a psychosocial thing handed down). We aren't indigenous to the country and we're all brought up with that "love it or leave it", conditional psychology that strongly suggests "they" could toss us out whenever they please. We don't have a sense of "nationality", in other words, to quote Dr. Maria Soren.

Other nations have similar but different plights. That is ours. Every nation has its own weaknesses and strengths.

17. definitely, however
We reportedly rarely see ourselves as part of "several million", but one person against a greater government.

Also, reason has very little to do with the decisions of the human animal. lol

21. Well, at least 51% of us are pretty pathetic.
I'm going to be very interested in how the Liberal ReTHUGlican Evan Bayh polls in a few years.

As long as the DLC thinks the way back to the top is to be indistinguishable from the ReTHUGS, we're fucked.
