In this unreal world, people are ridiculed and shunned if they don't support "the war". They don't require that the war be just, simply that we must win. Violence is the solution. Kill them until they surrender or until there are no more of them, they yell from the security of their favorite TV chairs. Those "hippies" that march for peace should be shot, they say. They hate our country. They are traitors.
As the bodies continue to come home in larger and larger numbers, some still and lifeless, others without arms and legs and, though still breathing, lifeless just the same. They stand and cheer as if their team just scored a touchdown. War is good. Peace is bad. Stop the world and let me off.

The fake circus of steroid bloated, inarticulate brutes beating the crap out of each other for some kind of imaginary alpha male dominance.
Then I switch to the Nascar channel where dozens of high performance gas guzzling machines roar and whine as they race round and round and round in a huge circle going nowhere. And yet someone wins!
Maybe this is why, in some subliminal way, War makes sense to so many Americans. It's a fantasy; a kind of religion we've been habituated to; a surrogate struggle for survival programmed for dis-empowered American males who can only twitch helplessly in front of their glowing television screens and cheer for the winners...
Maybe this is why War is good and Peace is for traitors, commies and queers. Maybe this is why our macho dominator nation is currently being "led" by a drug addled, impotent, ex-cheerleader drag queen.
*sigh*
War is Good!
Spare me.
