My encounter with a moran. |
|
I was just dropping my daughter off at the urgency care clinic and some guy motioned for me to roll down my window. He's a Christian and finds my "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" bumpersticker offensive. He was explaining to me that Jesus would not bomb anyone. I said, yeah, I know, that's the point. He says, so why do you have it on there? I find it offensive. I said, yeah, bombs are offensive. I have it there so maybe people who think * is a godly man will think about where he's taken our country. He said it's not about politics, it's just offensive. I said, yeah, I agree; it IS offensive, but it IS about politics. My daughter said, "break it up, you guys, this isn't the time or place, you're blocking traffic."
What a moran. He looked fairly intelligent and well-educated, but obviously irony is lost on him. I felt like I was doing the "Who's on First" routine, because this ASSHOLE kept explaining to me that Jesus would not bomb anyone. :banghead:

It never occurred to me that people wouldn't *get* the irony of that sticker. Then again, whoever buys into this war can't possibly be a strong thinker.
As a side note, can you imagine anyone of a religion *other* than Christianity having such a sense of entitlement that they would ask you to roll your window down so you could hear about their offended state?

6. Irony is dead post-Bush. Why? |
|
Because appreciation of irony requires a level of self-deprecation and self-awareness absent among the narcissistic, i.e, Bush supporters.
