COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Two Columbus-area women with children in the military headed Tuesday to Texas to join an anti-war demonstration outside President Bush's ranch.

Teresa Dawson, 42, of Gahanna, said she has been against the war since it began. One of her children is serving with the Ohio National Guard in Iraq.

"We are asking questions," she said. "We'd like the courtesy of truthful answers."

Dawson will lend support to the demonstration begun by Cindy Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son died in Iraq last year...

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Teresa Dawson, of Gahanna, who has a child serving in Iraq, is traveling to President Bush’s ranch to protest the war.

Mayor Michael B. Coleman publicly opposed the war in Iraq for the first time yesterday, saying parents of U.S. troops deserve answers from President Bush about ending the conflict.

Coleman’s son, J.D., has served in Iraq with Lima Company, 3 rd Battalion, 25 th Marines since January. That company has lost 16 members since May. The mayor last spoke to his son early yesterday.

"I, along with other parents, want our kids home," Coleman said. "The sooner, the better."...

7. This is what will finish the CowardinChief off.
Cindy is the catalyst. As military families line up with her, the power of their combined voices will overcome anything the rethugs can try to stop the snowball.

You've had it, Coward.

14. This is what it took in Vietnam. It's never a politician or lawmaker...
because they are belittled and destroyed publicly to diminish their effectiveness, especially easy now that the warmongers control most of the nation's media.

It always has to come from the military and the families themselves. Just like in Vietnam.

19. ISTR outright mutinies being brought up as motives for pullouts...
It wouldn't surprise me if they got a bigger one on their hands for this than they even got during Vietnam... even one extending much further up the chain of command.

18. during the election last November there was a church there
that served as a polling place. Mysteriously the # of * votes was more than the total # of voters for that precinct. Ooops!

20. While they are there, they should ask Melanie Morgan when her kid's headed
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 04:38 AM by Pachamama
off to Iraq....You know, Melanie Morgan who is on her way to Crawford with the "You don't speak for me Cindy" tour....they are planning on having their Pro-Bush, Pro-War Rally in Crawford in order to "speak out in support of America and Bush"....

I keep wondering when Melanie's kid is headed to Iraq for this great war she supports and its cause....

Someone should hold up big signs with that question for Melanie and the rest of these right-wing nuts who love to wave the flag and shout "W"...
