CNN.com calls Chavez a "left wing troublemaker"
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 09:19 PM by sazemisery
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americas/08/23/chavez.gasoline.reut/index.html

<snip>

The offer may sound attractive to Americans feeling pinched by soaring prices at the pump but not to the U.S. government, which sees Chavez as a left-wing troublemaker in Latin America.

<snip>

I guess because he is popular with the poor in his country he is labeled "left wing". Sounds reasonable to me.

6. The poor/middle class in the US need to be DESTROYED
Not coddled.

OBVIOUSLY, this Chavez guy didn't get the message. Seems like an invasion may be in order to change his "leftist" views.

8. For whom has he made trouble except for the oligarcy in Venezuela?
Neither he nor Castro has threatened an attack on the US. If we are afraid to fight in the war of IDEAS then there is really nothing to fight for in the country. If we can't stand to have neighboring countries with socialist or communist ideologies does that mean that capitalism can't measure up? The biggest communist country on earth is taking us to task economically even if we don't want to admit it. We are even dealing with them. Last time I looked, China was still a communist nation.

9. Look, to be completely accurate
by what you posted, CNN did NOT call Chavez a leftwing trouble-maker. They were characterizing the Bush administration's view of Chavez. Any observant reader would make that distinction.

Of course, that probably leaves out half the people who visit cnn.com.

10. Never forget the democratically elected Aristide who was ousted,...
,...by corporacrats, with the backing of US FORCE, because he was trying to provide a floor for his people.

The USA has gained a global reputation of being "for profit" over the "interests of people". The citizens of the USA were shielded from the realities of oppression imposed by government-backed, profiteering and exploitation.

The blow-back from such exploitation is being burdened by people who were blinded by the corporacrats, by people who have been manipulated, by people who are seriously confused and starting to wonder, "WHY".

Thank God for the internets,...a true God-send.
