Scott from Truthout: Joan Baez to stay at Camp Casey until Friday

I just learned that Joan Baez will be here until at least Friday morning and possibly longer. She has been sleeping in a tent at Camp Casey II. One of the reporters from the local paper offered to let her stay at her home and she refused, wanting to stay at the camp.

I had a long conversation one of the founders of the Crawford Peace House, Hadi Jawad. He told me that three weeks ago, they had three dollars in their bank account, no phones, and were considering closing the house. In the last 2 weeks they have received over one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars in donations. They are now considering expanding to Killeen, Texas, the closest town to Fort Hood.

The Crawford Peace House folks have been very accommodating, providing a press room, food and logistical support from the beginning.

There are still around 200 people between the three locations and everything is running very smoothly. The focus has remained intact, with no attempts from any groups to hijack the message.

1. It was great tonight listening
on the Brad Show how they did their housekeeping in between listening to Joan Baez on song.

2. I was not in America during the sixties
but I'm getting a little taste of what it may have been like.

my little babies and personal things.

My first protest was Feb 15, 2003 in NYC for the bushwa to stay out of Iraq so I'm getting a taste of what it must have been like now, too.

Hopefully we'll get them out way before 48,000 more THOUSAND Soldiers are killed..and how many Iraqis?

5. thank the internet...within two years we've mobilized as a anti war force
where it took several more years during Vietnam. We catch their lies a lot more quickly.
