I apologize for the Christians speaking hatred in my name
The world looked to the Muslim's to denounce the Islamic extremists to denounce the actions of those individuals defaming the Islamic religion.

Well, now it is time for us Christians to denounce the Christian faith for the same.

Pat Robertson, has never represented the Christian faith. He is possessed by the most EVIL one. He does not love, but he hates!

He is a 2-bit con-artist, who, if, ever read the Gospels, (the teachings of Jesus Christ) must have denied HIM in every word and deed! Christ teaches us Love, exhibit Tolerance, Forgiveness, and NOT to judge, there is no hate, like the false prophets speak.

All You need is LOVE, Love, LOVE, LOVE, that's all YOU NEED!

2. I know the difference. I think the bible is very confusing but I know what
feels right. I know he isn't a good person. It's clear.

3. Please don't call them "Christians".
Because they are nothing of the sort.

They're charlatans with snake oil at best, and antichrists at worst.

4. Love is truly all you need
The Beatles taught me that glove was one letter too many...

You have Nothing to apologize for, Christians follow Christ.
Christ followed love.
"They" are Not Followers of Christ, as you are.
"They" are not your responsibility. "They" know him not. As he will not know them.

You hear his message, and feel as he does about these modern Pharisee.
Speak your mind to them as was Christ's example, but never apologize to me again for what you would never do.
WWJD? Probably what you know you must do right now.
Confront the Pharisee

5. Pat reminds me of a Lenny Bruce bit
where Moses and Jesus enter the back of St Patrick's Cathedral and witness the rich inside, the poor outside and various other incongruities. I think it lit a fire of questioning in my then young mind that burns today. By the way; "Love is all you need. I believed it then and I believe it now. I'm stickin with it." George Harrison interview.

7. You need not apologize for Robertson
He doesn't speak for either you, me, or millions of other Christians, without being given it from above, which he hasn't. He will get his eventually. Your denounciation is important, and I join you in it.

8. He's a Sick Person Calling For Murder
Don't diminish yourself and your beliefs by putting yourself in the same realm.

What's really sad is that in our culture, you'd even think of apologizing for a murderer's comments. It's like trying to explain the chimp administration isn't it?

9. Thanks, I appreciate your effort, but

We do need to judge, and
Not by referring to the received wisdom of Holy books
Not by acting on the received ignorance of a superstitious culture
By using reason, logic, and sublime emotions to support rational ideals.

I don't think a religion whose feature symbol is a torture/death device has at it's locus the coherent message: "turn the other cheek". Combined with irrational fundamentalism, trouble ensues.

What Robertson said wasn't horrible because it embarrasses some Christians, it was horrible because it was on a very low scale of social and intellectual evolution.

This issue has a broader scope than "Robertson made the good Christians look bad". We are in the com text of Operation Iraqi Freedom, remember?

Through no fault of your own, your virtual apology offers little solace.

But I like that you ended your post with the simple notion that love is a good thing, instead of a quote from whatever you believe the "best" book is, or whoever you believe the best prophet is, . :)

Now let's see you get robertson off the air. Then after that, the "Live from Liberty University" Falwell bs. And so on.

Take care of your goodness.

edit: clarity

11. You guys don't get it!!!!
The Muslim's were berated for not condemning the acts of OBL and 911!!

They took the same stand, not OUR FAITH, but guess what. It is the SAME, if we don't stand up, then we are the same!!! Actually, we are lesser, because we demanded it from THEM, they didn't demand it from US. It is time, for TRUE CHRISTIANS to take up the mantle again.

It is time, for all the God-fearing, people to speak up, or just let SATAN, play us the fool!

I will start it, by saying "GWB, does not know Jesus Christ and will never know Jesus Christ!!", (to know Christ, is not a one time profession of knowing him, but a lifetime of living his teachings.) He would never give up his wealth, knowledge and intellect, which is a JOKE (look at Harvard's own in house review in the 90's for their MBA's program). They knew they were farting duds!!!

He is trying to keep his health up, because he knows where he is going!! It ain't up, DOWN..DOWN... DOWN..

12. If a group of Muslim clerics can issue a fatwa against terrorism
Why can't a group of our clerics who know their asses from their elbows get together and issue a fatwa reading Roberton out of meeting?

13. Because my Leaders and True Christians
would never ever consider that LOSER a part of the Fold. He is truly a demon and is not worthy of our attention, which, is of course the Muslim's point of view on OBL.

The soon to be gone, US media, has not figured out, the TRUTH always wins out!!! They have been played the FOOL, and are trying to figure out WHO they SERVE in the GLOBAL economy. It is gonna get funny, POP corn time!!

14. Bless you. Christians need to publicly take back their religion...
... the way all of us need to take back our country and its flag.

People claiming to be Christians, yet who seem to have never heard of the Beatitudes, have spent a generation claiming the moral high ground in every sphere of public life-- and now government.

They must be drowned out by a chorus of the faithful who are *not* filled with hate and vengeance.

The Rev. Jim Wallis of Sojourner is very much on the right track. I recommend both his online journal and the monthly magazine if you want to see what an evangelical social justice activist can look like.
