Canada is a net exporter of oil, any guesses as to what percent |
of consumption Canadians import?

2. That chart only shows that production is greater then consumption |
and does not answer the question.

3. Canadian Crude oil imports = 987,000 bbl/day (2004) |
These imports are mostly for the east cost since Alberta is the the primary exporter. Of course since consumption is part of the "global" pool of oil, bottom line... it is more cost effective to import than to ship local oil from west to east. Hence why Canada has a net oil surplus.

4. The interesting thing is that this is around 50 percent the oil |
consumption. It's one of the interesting things that a global market does.
I was hoping that there would be more repsonses. It is an interesting concept that is worth knowing about.
