Oval Office Tour with Shrub... |
|
I was just checking a link out for a tour in the oval office (because I think that office is interesting and historical, though for the wrong reasons know...)
Anyways, Chimpy talks about the Presidential Seal in the middle of the rug on the floor and talks about how Truman changed the Eagle's head from facing the arrows to facing the olive branch (change from war to peace). And then fucking chimpy says this that makes my mouth drop:
"After WWII, Harry Truman changed the seal so that America was looking at peace, not at war - of course it's always important to make sure we've got enough arrows in the talons to keep the peace."
Are you fucking serious??
WAR IS PEACE FREEDOM IS SLAVERY IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
similar, don't you think??

2. It's the "Big Swinging Dick" theory of foreign relations |
|
Pioneered by Richard Nixon with major amendments by Ronald Reagan.
Bush the Smarter(tm) deviated from this practice and got sent back to a reeducation camp in Martha's Vineyard.
Newt Gingrich was a major Swinging Dick proponent in his originally named "Dick With America" campaign. Strategists later named it "Contract With America". Newt single-handedly kept Swinging Dick alive and viable.
Now, through a succession of mentors and power figures like the Viagra hawking Bob Dole, SD became what it is today - a potent symbol of America's prowess and stamina.
Now, the baton is passed to a new practioner - G. W. Bush. And the SD is climbing higher and faster than at any time in recorded history.
Some say SD is moving so fast it may, ultimately, bring down it's wielder.
But one thing is sure. SD's don't last forever. And a handoff is due.
