That's a key difference. I don't honestly think Nixon would have even WANTED to get away with doing all that BushCo has done. Not to defend him, especially, but more to say that BushCo is a special kind of monster that has taken us down different and more dangerous paths than Nixon ever dreamed of. He spied, but, I never got the impression he'd take down an entire nation, his OWN nation, for personal gain. He wasn't perfect, but I'd say he was a far lesser evil. And GOD knows he had a better brain. He was frugal. Bush probably doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Nixon went to China. International politics MEANT something to him.

There was so many dirty tricks that elected nixon I can't even remember them all. But, Bush is far stupider imo and is so arrogant he outdoes nixon's evil in every way. Yes, Nixon was a slimeball in private (as the White House tapes now show). But Bush and this current regime makes Richard Milhous Nixon look saintly by comparison.

Bush is by FAR worse than Nixon. The worst President the United States has ever had. No contest.

Protection Act. What positives can Bush point to? A failed presidency, and a presidency that ruined the country, destroyed the Constitution and made the US a rogue nation.

as scummy a human as Chimpy might be, Wilson was an unreconstructed racist who rolled back embryonic civil rights measures and set back that cause by decades. Wilson committed us to a war that saw not thousands but hundreds of thousands of our young men slaughtered for arguably lamer reasons than in Iraq.

And had we not gone to Europe, I can't see Hitler rising to power in the wake of Germany's defeat.

Thompson flogged Nixon mercilessly. Unendingly. Completely without reserve. When Nixon died, Thomspon wrote a piece about Nixon that essentially said, "He's dead, but he was still a bastard." In 2004, Thompson said that if Nixon were alive and running against Bush, Tricky Dick would get his vote in a hot minute. End of debate, as far as I'm concerned.
