2. It was to help Rep Rob Simmons whose district Groton is in
Majority Leader Hastert was quoted in the Hartford Courant to be in favor of keeping the sub base open in Groton.

3. Well, whatever the reason I am
very happy and relieved. I live 5 minutes from the subbase. Closing it would have been a disaster for this area.
