That's it..just turned Franken off
His musical gags are just too much to take...his newest "Johnnie Alter" to the tune of Johnnie Angel (by Shelly Fabres, I think) was just waaaaaaayyyyyyy to much to take.

22 minutes until Randi comes on.

3. I loved it. If I'd not been here in the office, I would've sung along!
They're having a discussion on Cindy Sheehan, BTW.

5. Ugh ...
You mean you like Randi Rhodes more than Franken and Lanpher? Randi's OK until she gets a caller who disagrees with her, then she turns into Dr. Laura Schlessinger or Sean Hannity and treats them like a steaming pile.

24. Sorry, but ...
I just can't ignore how much she sounds like the Bill O'Reilly of the Left when she gets a caller who even hints at a disagreement with her. She calls them a Republican (even if they are obviously not) - similar to Bill's you're either with me or with the terrorists b.s.

I don't like her.

I kind of remembered him from the convention and struck up a conversation with him. When I told him I knew you, he asked if I was one of the "bloggers." I laughed and told him yeah.

12. It's Randi that bugged me, not Al.
Randi spent 20 minutes talking about her bra one day. After withstanding that 2 minutes, more like 30 seconds, of Al's bad singing is nothing.

I did not understand you. Was it the singing quality. The re-wording of a musical icon. The use of a religious symbolism on a political satire show. The new wording saying something objectionable.

It's the wasting of my time that bothers me. Twenty minutes, I kid you not.

19. It was probably just "Johnny Angel"
I prefer "Johnny Get Angry", appallingly retro even in its day:

Johnny get angry
Johnny get mad
Give me the biggest lecture I ever had
I wanna brave man
I wanna caveman
Johnny Johnny show you care really care for me

I like Franken because even when I don't agree with his opinion, he gets his facts right. He is painstaking about that. I won't name the AAR people I have heard say things that are just not true. They are the worst waste of time, IMO. Though I agree with you about bra rants.

Al wastes a lot of time too telling the same stories about himself again and again. But his singing amuses me. So eh. Let him sing.

27. Yea. Should add that I adore Al, but Randi's THE BEST!
Al crafts his words well. Randi, however, sees the legalities and calls it on the spot. Her kind is why think tanks pay big money.

the excellent, enlightening & very liberal progressive, (and ENTERTAINING) Thom Hartmann!

Instead of Franken both are in the same time slot...you'll enjoy Hartmann, he'll entertain, keep you informed, and doesn't pander to right-wing shit.

Check out today's show (archives) and see the huge difference between Hartmann and Franken!!!!

20. Crapping on Randi over Franken is a joke
Franken is a little too DLC for me. I like his show, but he pisses me off when he belittles many of the grassroots' activities. The contesting of the last election was simply ridiculed by him. Election Day was horrible, did anyone hear how Randi and Mike Malloy were treated by Katherine when they were jumping back and forth. They were shut out like some conspiracy theorist nuts. Protests are treated like they are taboo. Cindy Sheehan hardly gets mentioned on the Al Franken Show and when it is mentioned it is in a critical light. It would be nice to discuss issues without taking the high road all the time. His show is probably like this because he intends on running for office.

Al Franken's show is OK, but not among my favorites. If you ask me this is how I rank them:

1. Mike Malloy
2. The Rachael Maddow Show
3. The Randi Rhodes Show
4. The Majority Report
5. Ring of Fire
6. The Al Franken Show
7. Springer on the Radio
8. The Laura Flanders Show

Al Franken can't spit out what he is trying to say. Half of his show's time is just him saying "Uhhhhhhhhhhh", horrible for radio. Hardly ever does he have a skit that is remotely funny. That is besides the fact that there are too many of them. I think the best parts of his show is all of the debunking.

Anyway, that is just my opinion. Rachael Maddow needs a full show, she should never have been replaced by Springer.

I am just glad to have a left-leaning radio station I can listen to. I will never complain since I have had to listen to the above mentioned feckers for...well...since I can even remember!
