Heat advisory for Crawford
... Heat advisory in effect until 7 PM CDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth TX has extended...
and expanded... the current heat advisory. McLennan County has been
added to the advisory... which is now in effect until 700 PM Friday.
Residents of Fort Worth... Dallas... and Waco can expect afternoon
index values between 105 and 108 degrees... with overnight lows not
dropping below 78.

Children, the elderly and people with chronic ailments are usually
the first to suffer from the heat. Heat exhaustion, cramps, or in
extreme cases heat stroke can result from prolonged exposure to these
conditions. Friends, relatives, or neighbors should check on people
who may be at risk.

Stop outdoor activities, drink lots of water or other non-alcoholic
beverages, wear light colored/light weight clothes, and if possible,
spend more time in air conditioned or well ventilated places.

Persons in the advisory area are advised to avoid prolonged work in
the sun, or in poorly ventilated areas. Also, keep plenty of liquids
on hand and try to stay in an air conditioned environment.

What a hell hole. I'm so glad that I left Dallas 25 years ago.
