4. I was thinking the same thing. When the Rethugs order spin Tweety
knows how to deliver. Hitchens was allowed to say all that crap about Iraq being a haven for terrorists long before 9/11 without one ounce of proof. So we have to worry about the Baathists (who were Reagans greatest allies)as "terrorists." My god do these freaks ever stop? Drunks and druggers, wife abusers, liars, and thiefs...that's all the right has to offer as pundits.

5. Believe it or not, Christopher's brother Peter Hitchens is worse AND he's
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 07:05 PM by ...of J.Temperance
Got a monobrow, which makes it WORSE. Here's his website:

http://www.peterhitchens.com/

Peter's nothing short of being a total loony. Click on "Read Articles", that's if you've got a barf bag on hand. He's rabidly crazy and he fanatically hates Europe. But he's so crazy, he's ALMOST funny...except he believes his own crap.

Christopher used to be moderate at one point, what's happened to him the past years, I just don't know, but he genuinely needs to be sectioned and straight-jacketed.

I have to have dealings with him again next month. Although I dislike the task, I find it curiously stimulating. He's simply such an outright loony.

Yes, I would too. But because he's such an outright loony AND he's also rabid, you'd better take some of the below with you...in case he shakes your hand. If he does, use the Savlon antiseptic wipes liberally, if you get a tingling feeling in your hand after half an hour, then I'd recommend a trip to St. Barts, because you might have caught some obscure disease from Rabid Pete ;)

Oh and try and NOT to look at the monobrow, I'm told it has hypnotic brainwashing powers *shudder*

13. In Christopher's case, what made him so nasty was
Insane jealousy over President Clinton getting blow jobs. This seemed to drive Fat Chris over the edge...now of course, because he never sought professional help over his complex, well he's gone totally over the edge and it's too late to fetch him back.

Not that we WANT him back.

Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 08:11 PM by ...of J.Temperance
That was the beginning of his insanity, when he failed to make the grade. Then when Clinton started getting free blow jobs, it obviously drove Tweety to the point of no return...where he still dwells.

I hate Matthews, not ONLY is he TOTALLY schizo, but I hate the way he SHOUTS and SPITS at people...Jaysus, somebody give Tweety a box of Kleenex for Gods sake...I was going to elaborate on what else Tweety could use a box of Kleenex and a glossy big photo of Junior for, but I'd better not, it might get pornographic.

I strongly suspect that Chris Hitchens, Tweety, Kenneth Starr, the ENTIRE Editorial Board of the Wall Street Journal, ALL the males who work in the TV MSM and ALL of the males in the GOP, the ENTIRE Christian Coalition and Richard Mellon Scaife...I strongly suspect that when they go to bed at night, they just lay there thinking of the GLORIOUS Clenis.

They're SO insane and fucked up, because they're in denial, if they could only just admit in a public setting how DESPERATELY they want that piece of 1946 Arkansan meat...well, ya know, it'd help them immensely.

11. Hitch learned from his friend's conservative, drunk dad: Kingsley Amis.
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 07:38 PM by DemoTex
His friend being Martin Amis, Kingsley's son. Kingsley wrote some wicked humor before the neurons were pickled by Scotch whiskey, perhaps the best being One Fat Englishman. It is a well written novel about an English alcoholic by an English alcoholic. Kingsley was rabidly right wing. Hitchens seems happy -- no, eager -- to follow Kinsley Amis down that path.

Sir Kingsley Amis (1922-1995)

Amis works include:
BRIGHT NOVEMBER, 1947
A FRAME OF MIND, 1953
POEMS: FANTASY PORTRAITS, 1954

The ORIGINAL film by the Boulting Brothers is a FAB little film. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Strangely, Martin Amis often looks as drunken and pickled as Chris Hitchens.

15. "Lucky Jim" is one of my favorites, too. Book and film.
Kingsley Amis' writing transcended his politics. The alcoholic edge might have worked for him too. I do like his work. I like some of Martin Amis' work too. He was a good friend of Saul Bellow, and took the drunken Hitch to New England for a weekend with Saul and his wife once. Hitchens offended EVERYBODY! Including Martin Amis.
However, in defense of the drunken Hitchens, his book and film The Trial(s) of Henry Kissinger were fantastic. I read the book twice and saw the film thrice.Hitch was migrating toward the dark side when the book came out. Then he went crazy. Something about Clinton pushed him over the edge.

17. 'Lucky Jim' and something about Clinton pushed Hitch over the edge
Yeah that "something" was Clinton getting some from Monica. Obviously because Hitch hasn't probably been laid since 1986, his mind couldn't handle the thought of Clinton getting some and it literally has driven Hitch insane.

'Lucky Jim', I've never actually read the book, but I love the film. I'm going to watch some of another Boulting Brothers film in a moment, 'Brighton Rock', which is quite possibly in the Top Five best British films ever made, Richard Attenborough is just STUNNING. If you like films, then you'd like 'Brighton Rock', look out for it:

http://www.britmovie.co.uk/directors/j_boulting/filmography/001.html

I haven't read the Kissinger book by C. Hitchens, I'll put it on my list though.

Gosh, poor Amis and Bellow, having to tolerate the crazy fat slob. Chris' actual occupation these days is "Offender", it's on his passport I'm sure.

I'm sure that Jeff Gannon would oblige ;) Sorry if that's indecent! :)

I think the entire GOP have the same problem as Hitch, judging by the way they reacted over Clinton...well not the entire, because we had the hypocrites that were hiding that they were playing away from home (Bob Livingstone, Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde *, Helen Chenowith etc) * Sorry I forgot, Hyde's was a "youthful indescretion that happened when he was in his 40s)

If you don't mind me asking, where about are you in Texas? Because maybe you could help me with a question? If thats okay of course.

Close-in Dallas is great. Many great restaurants. Especially the north side of town near Highland Park. That's where we lived until 4/2004. My favorite restaurants in Dallas were both on Greenville Avenue. One was a dive called Doty's (great Cajun seafood) and the other was called The Grape (like that great pub in Mayfair, London), with an excellent Continental/American and sometimes Asian menu. Stick to Dallas .. can't go wrong. I know little about Ft. Worth, except that the stockyards are a tourist trap. Someone else might have better better info on Ft. Worth.
PM me if you need more info on Dallas.
