On CNN: Army rep. explains that recent Iraqi violence shows progress
General Basilica: The extreme violence of attacks of the last few days are an indication of how well things are going, because the 'enemy can only muster enough to make a few spectacular attacks, not widespread attacks'.

3. I wonder if they sound as ridiculous to themselves ...
...as they do to us?

Mercifully large amounts of people no longer buy this "up is down" ... stuff

4. And if the attacks were widespread they would say
it's progress because they are not focused I guess.

As usual this stuff reads pretty much the same backwards as forwards. And you have to wonder how they are defining wide spread since these folks have proven themselves to utterly untrustworthy every time out.

5. Sick of this Propaganda. The insurgency has ALWAYS been a few attacks
that were spectacular and not widespread. That's been their m.o. from the get-go.

And, as far as well things are going, apparently Gen. Basilica needs to extract his head from his anus long enough to read this:

7. Is this quote from 2004?
Do they trot these out every 6 months or something? They switch rationales for progress as often as they do with the reasons we're there in the first place.
