6. I hate pin-yin!
Totally useless! I wish everyone had stuck to Wade-Giles, which was so simple and phonetic, you could actually pronounce a word with a modicum of confidence!

it would be (I think) something like "Ooo Dz' Tyan"

no idea what the tones would be, that was years ago

If it is, I'll ask my wife.

words ending in "u" in Mandarin are very hard for me to pronounce, as it is does not rhyme with "you" or "zoo"... my wife knows a professor at Yale with the last name Hu, and it is more like "huh", rhyming with "uh"
