Question: If Texas is "Bush Country" why are they having to bus protesters
in? Where have all the local war supporters gone?

Are these signs referring to scrub brush or the pResident?

Follow up question; is there a difference?

3. Right, I realize that.
But why aren't the locals out there supporting their pResident? That's what I don't understand. How can they claim it's "Bush Country" when they have to import people because they've had such a bad turnout?

7. The "supporters" are all blow, no show
They talk a bunch of crap when there is one of us and many of them. They don't want to get out in the hot Crawford sun, only to be told that they are wrong.

I'm going to Crawford Saturday!!!

16. How can supporting their pResident not be worth the effort?
It's their patriotic duty!

I've noticed in my flyspeck town they are either all hot air and can't form an intelligent argument or they are beginning to look down on the war.

9. One of them there "jobs of the 21st Century"
* and the Borg promised in this booming economy to replace those outsourced. Right up there with those other good jobs they are handing out now--Walmart Greeter, E-bay CEO, BigMac Engineer.

2. They were referring to the only crop they can grow apparently
All they have is a bunch of dirt and bush farms around there :)

5. Very good point.
And I'll let you in on a little secret - Texas is NOT Bush Country. He's temporarily kidnapped it, but when all is said and done, I really believe Texas will be blue again, or at least not a GOP stronghold. It won't be long.

;)

17. I'd like to see a poll showing how many Texans support this war
I've looked and I can't find a current one. Even the people I know who support bush are no longer buying all the validations for this war.

Imagine what would happen if it were exposed that the majority of Texans don't support his war?

19. Work conversations here have changed
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 03:48 PM by sparosnare
EVERYONE is bitching about the war and gas prices. It's really cool to have folks come around to reason again.

BTW - Hutchison's poll numbers don't look good. I don't have a link (it's at home) - I'll PM it to you later.

20. Yes, please do send me Hutchison's poll numbers
The heifer just sent me my form letter reply today re:Roberts nomination.

It's a raving review and ends with her saying she plans to work toward his quick confirmation. Pretty much what I expected to hear.

6. They're hard at work
It's hard work being a texan you know
we don't have to go to crawford to show him we support him, he knows that.
I can hear all the excuses already.

no disrespect to texans intended just that one who is an imposter, that carpet bagger.

11. I don't know, I live here, I haven't even seen a sign in support of this
administration, perhaps his supporters need to be paid before they break away from thier everyday mundane existances...

12. Hmmm... shouldn't there be cattle behind the fences with those signs?
Or perhaps sheep, if it really is Bush country?

13. Why aren't the residents of Crawford out in force?
I sure not all of them support **, but probably most do. I'm not seeing the bush/cheney bumper sticker very much anymore.

18. Because repukes are inherently lazy.
And they don't have a central figure that really stands for something to rally around or tell them how to protest.

colossal failure*

21. I also feel
They are losing support for this war. They are talking the big talk in the WH, but their people aren't walking the walk showing their support.
