Yahoo and CNN are not reporting this as far as I can tell. I'll keep hunting, by I truly hope I don't find anything...

4. It's his boss, Coney, who stepped down.

And he appointed his own replacement, who sounds like another bulldog, to replace him, so Fitzgerald should still have a highly supportive boss.

15. If you mean "part of the cabal" as in a neocon, no
Comey was/is not a neocon. Actually, the best thing that ever happened to this investigation was when Ashcroft recused himself and Comey appointed Fitzgerald.

19. Okay then this resignation was expected. Someone is to replace
Fitzgerald's immediate boss (Ashcroft & New AG were both recused as his immediate boss). The question is who will replace this guy.

7. he's in the middle of ten zillion major investigations
he's in a dream position for a U.S. Atty, going after Rove, George Ryan, Mayor Daley among other lesser scumbags.

ie., seems doubtful he'd sell out for some boring corporate job.

12. This sounds absurd, especially considering
Fitzgerald is the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.

13. They Must Have Been Referring To Comey
who was Fitzgerald's boss, who has been retired to be replaced by Margolis. And I believe the job is with Lockheed. Better fact checking needed here.

17. This is actually a repeat broadcast...
I'd heard this same broadcast a few days ago (last week I think). Note that at the beginning when he introduced Becky Lourie, there was no indication of Cindy Sheehan being back at Camp Casey, when in fact she got back yesterday.

Ed later comes on to say that it was Fitzgerald's boss that resigned. If there'd been much to this, we'd have heard about it last week.

20. Welcome to DU, now time to learn one of our procedures...
... called auto delete. Edit your post and change your title to auto deleted and erase all the message text.

Otherwise this bit of false info will start riccochetting all over the blogosphere...

It was Fitzgerald's superior who quit the DOJ for private practice, not Fitzgerald.
