what ever happened to youngstown, ohio aar station?
My wife used to be able to pick up aar on either 1570 or 1590 am for about a month. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. Does anybody know what happened to that station and why aar stopped airing?

1. You are referring to WARN Warren
WANR was just beginning operation under an LMA (lease management agreement) and picked up AAR. A minority owner (right-wing Christian) got a local bidness man (also reich-wing Christian) to buy out to other minority owners giving them MAJORITY control. They tore up the LMA agreement, kicked out the air staff, dumped AAR and started playing Christianized versions of oldies. Seriously, they play redone versions of everything from "Rock Around the Cross" to "Hey Judas!"

I AM NOT KIDDING.

2. There was a coup
I mean literally. A cabal of "Christian" fascists came in and took over the station studios, locked out the AAR staff and later were allowed to purchase the station.

Incidents like this have been the exception, however, not the ruls, as the net number of AA stations continues to grow, including 4 in Ohio.

4. If your computer can do it, try streaming the shows
Go to the AAR website to get the link and they probably will also have a link for the software you need.

Good luck!

6. my computer can doit, however...
I would rather listen to aar on the way to work in the evenings, then listen to the right wing lying propganda that they spew over the radio. Since I can't pick up aar howeverr, I force myself to stomach it and keep up with what they are saying so i can inform everybody what they are saying.

They're mega powerful. In the evenings I can get them in my car all the way down here in NC.

5. Hopefully y'all can pickup one of the other OH or PA stations
http://www.airamericaradio.com/stations

Ohio actually has a surprising number, considering there's only70 total stations. :hi:
