Why Pat Robertston's apology is bogus.
Robertson apologized yesterday:

"Is it right to call for assassination? No, and I apologize for that statement," Robertson said in a statement issued by his Christian Broadcasting Network.

Unfortunately, this isn't much of an apology. Pat Robertson proceeds to call Hugo Chavez a dictator (he's not) and to say of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who tried to kil Adolph Hitler, that "his example deserves our respect and consideration today."

In other words, in a single press release, Pat Robertson apologizes for calling for the murder of Hugo Chavez, and then does it again.

3. I still wonder if his neocon & rovbot friends didn't whip him into a
frenzy with some 'facts on Venezuela' in order to give the press a story other than Cindy. Just speculating. They know he is a reliable hot-head.

Hang with sociopaths and they will deminish your 'brand'.

McCain knows it well.

6. People who want US corporations to control Venezualan oil
may have talked to him:

"And I don't think any oil shipments will stop. But this man is a terrific danger and the United ... This is in our sphere of influence, so we can't let this happen. We have the Monroe Doctrine, we have other doctrines that we have announced. And without question, this is a dangerous enemy to our south, controlling a huge pool of oil, that could hurt us very badly."

5. Oh, who gives a fuck what Pat Robertson says...
...he's an old, old man and he will fucking die soon enough. He's just trying to screw over the world a little more before he goes, because he finally discovered that all of that God hooey is just that. Hooey! Rather than trying to live up to his Christ ideal, he's gonna fuck over whomever he can before he goes. Into Darkness. Forever...
