CNN reporter just now: "Locals are 'laxadaisical' about Hurricane Katrina" |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 06:19 PM by Bluebear
In news other than using words that aren't words, CNN is reportedly fuming that Katrina made such a quick arrival on the scene. "We could have milked this for DAYS," fretted Leslie Blitzer in his "Situation Room".

1. It's a category 1 hurricane, maybe not rating the hysteria like others? |

2. They haven't been whipped into a media frenzy! |
|
Advanced warnings are great, but Blitzer and company seem to take sheer delight in scaring the crap out of folks lol.

turn back to Tropical Storms and do only a small amount of damage in a localized area. The only thing they need to worry about is flooding and lightning.

Shutters locked down and chillin'
One fatality so far... large tree fell on a car and has most likely killed the occupant.
Still category 1, not dangerous if you stay inside. Unfortunately there are some people unwisely hanging out in this shit.

12. I thought I would have more time... |
|
I was watching the storm online it was 55 miles out and moving at 6mph so I didnt think it would make landfall till 9 or 10pm... got home at 4pm dropped the shutters, showered and took a nap. Woke up and the eye was sitting over Hollywood.
