Two people dead so far from Hurricane Katrina
South Florida getting hit hard. Key Biscayne getting a lot of destruction. We are bouncing in Key Largo, but nothing like I am hearing from the folks in Miami. This one was a fooler!

2. Oh how horrible ...
My friend in West Palm (north of, I understand that it's significantly north of the keys) assured me that "this was going to be nothing" at 5:00PM today.

Thanks for the info, sorry to all Floridians (sp?)

3. Key Biscayne and South Beach I guess is getting the brunt
The two deaths I think were both in Ft. Lauderdale; people in their cars. We are in Key Largo and are getting rain and wind, thunder and lightning, but I'm on a boat so I'm not really seeing any trees branches flying. But all the local stations report lots of trouble in south Dade.

Haven't heard that West Palm is getting any problems. Hope your friend is safe.

Below the radar map, you can take a look at the last 6 frames and watch the storm move.

Wow...intense!

Hope all in southern FL are safe tonight!

6. Overpass just collapsed on the Dolphin Expressway
and they don't know if there were any cars under it yet. This could be a very bad thing.
